Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Re: Am Not Coping

That’s very impressive @TAB

My day ended well thanks @Zoe7. A kind new friend invited me to catch up at her house after work. What’s interesting is I really could listen actively without comparing & doing negative self-talk (wow! That feels like a first but may not be repeated. She’s from same profession but seriously does have heaps & heaps more competencies than me including her own private practice). Anyway, I learnt more about her very troubled son & hope she benefitted from me caring & actively listening to her trauma). Hope your day was good @Zoe7?

Hi @Sam3 I hope your day went ok at work.

What sort of work do you do, if you feel comfortable saying on here. It’s ok if not.

I’m not sure I’ll be on here long. Took sleep med and hopefully it will work tonight.

If I don’t catch you tonight. Sleep well. 🌷🌸🌺😴

nighty night everyone 😴💜

Hey @TAB that phrase of yours could be a great motto/meme as you keep up the fight! @Former-Member I’m hoping you’re sound asleep by now. FYI I’m in the health sector. I’m seeing my doctor tomorrow - feels like a waste of money sometimes with discussion focussed on medication & I rave about my negative beliefs & concerns. Does anyone else believe that appointments feel like Groundhog Day sometimes? I really need to empower myself & take control but I can’t actually be bothered 🤪 ...classic case of ‘learned helplessness’!

Sweet dreams all 🧠 <- that’s a brain that’s ideally switched off!

It sounds like you got something out of the visit with your new friend also @Sam3 We so often dismiss the positive things we do and actively listening to your friend is a positive thing. It is not always easy to do when our own heads are all over the place so very well done for being there for your friend and for contributing to the conversation in an active way.

I had a very productive day - washing, washing up, cleaned up some of the garage, cut Toby's toenails and cleaned up his toys and tidied the kitchen. Tomorrow I am planning on staying inside out of the heat and doing some more of my painting.

Re: Am Not Coping

Been to the supermarket and done the rest of my shopping before the heat hits today. Need to unpack and put away what I haven't already done but that won't take long.

I am determined to clean off my dining room table today but still unsure of where I am going to put everything - there is a lot of school stuff that I just don't have room for. I might need to re-stack some things in the spare room to make room but that is a big job that will tke some time also. A bit stuck in where to put things until I can move my school stuff into an actual classroom.

Also wanting to get more painting done however that may be an afternoon job when it gets warmer and moving things is more uncomfortable in the heat (also a better light in the afternoon).

Toby is asleep so no bath yet (and no I won't wake my precious little fella lol 🐶)

I hope everyone passing thruogh has a good day and can stay cool

Re: Am Not Coping

Morning @Zoe7 and all!

So nice to hear you got to the beach yesterday. You really did have a big day! I really enjoyed sharing bits of the day with you yesterday as we were both doing things. It helped keep me going. I wanted to reply to your last tag yesterday but found myself busy then scatterbrain tired!

Did you hear from friend in the end?

I'm about to wander to the shops only a few doors down to pick up what I forgot during another nightmare supermarket trip yesterday. Muddled one of mine is suffering at times with huge anxiety when we go out to busy places now. A couple of months ago we were involved in a pretty serious incident on an escalator (I had to have xrays, little copped a big bang on the face, there was talk with legal people etc.). Muddled one had some big reactions at the shops in the time immediately after but it seemed to subside for a while. Now it seems to have come back with a bang. I'm glad we have started the ball rolling with support for them because they do have their challenges (and it is so challenging for all of us when it happens!). Bit of a rave there!

Hope you stay cool today and get to enjoy some painting 🙂

Re: Am Not Coping

It is not great for muddled one to be going through what they are but it is good that you have a team in place to help - catching these things early is also a good thing as the behaviours and issues can be dealt with and muddle one can learn coping strategies early. Sorry to hear about the escalator incident - and that continues to be an issue - hoping with time that can all be handled by muddled one with less anxiety.

I have already done the supermarket run today and started to tidy up the dining room table. There are some things that will take time to sort out (mostly work stuff) so that will be my next big job after putting away the groceries.

I have a set of scissors that need to be cleaned as they are covered with plasticene from one of the classes I too - been putting that off because plasticene is not easy to clean off things - I use Jif (my magic cleaner). Funny story - the kids at school used to use Jif for all the cleaning (following my lead there) but used to call it the magic cleaner without any prompting from me. Every Friday I would take the shopping list off the whiteboard (the kids could add things that we were low on or run out of whenever they like) - Jif used to be always on the list so I would buy it in bulk when it was cheaper and keep a store of it at home. Suffice to say we had the cleanest desks and benches in the school lol @CheerBear

I had a quick message from friend last night but nothing to write home about. I do know he has been busy with painting 2 of his rooms so hasn't been online much. I have found myself looking forward to his messages though - not sure if that is a good thing or not - time will tell I suppose - just taking it as it comes (and totally scared also!!!)
