Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Re: Am Not Coping

Good morning my friend @Zoe7.
It's a sunny day here in Victoria. Going to reach 30° before the day is done. So I'm planning on sitting in the sun and reading a good book.
How did you sleep last night?

Re: Am Not Coping

Hi @utopia

I did get some sleep - actually made it to bed eventually and it was ok for most of the night. Did wake up really early this morning with 'one of those' dreams but it wasn't extremely bad and managed to settle and go back to sleep.

I have to go to school for a few minutes to drop in a key and give my Mum a jacket so am anxious about both going in there and driving there. I am going to take Toby with me (I usually do but REALLY need him by my side today).

It sounds like you have a nice relaxing day planned. I suspect when I return home I will be exhausted - it's only about a half hour drive each way but combined with the added stress of being back in 'that' area and being around people for a little while I know I will need to calm down and try to relax when I get home.

@Former-Member - have seen you floating around It must be Tuesday LOL - catch up with you later - don't think I'll be much fun today so don't expect 'cheeky zoe' to come out and give you guys any laughs.

Re: Am Not Coping

@Zoe7. Brilliant. So glad you could fall back asleep & get the extra hours that your body needs.
Toby should be listed as a 'working' or 'therapy' dog. He is great to have around - especially when you are feeling anxious. He will help you walk through the school door. Although I imagine you would soon be surrounded by kids all wanting to pat him. Lol.
Take it easy today. 3 deep breaths.

Morning @utopia , @Zoe7, @Faith-and-Hope @Phoenix_Rising @Former-Member,

Yes very hot here today glad you are feeling a bit better from what I've read @utopia, hope you got to eat some tasty food !

Oh and I just had a read through your weekend @Zoe7 sounded tough but there were some nice supports given to yourself and others on the forum which was lovely!

I also think it's a good idea to not see your Psychologist if it's making you feel that way, it's great you have that ongoing support from your GP, she sounds amazing.

Friday feast was funny, totally understand about today 🙂 I hope you get to relax this afternoon and say hi to Toby + Cat from me !

Re: Am Not Coping

Hi @utopia and @Former-Member I'm back from my little 'trip'. It wasn't too bad. Alot of anxiety driving there but ok at work. I did see a few people but didn't hang around much to chat - everyone I saw asked how I was and that was really awkward!

My response was simple - getting there but it's up and down.

Next question was then - will you be back soon - response: definitely not this term and maybe not until at least the middle of the year.

Then if any more questions were asked I excused myself and said I had to see the Principal.

I did see the Principal and of course she asked how I was doing. I was really honest and told her I wouldn't be back this term but that hadn't all been finalised yet because we were still waiting for the insurance stuff to go through. I also told her that I was doing ok until last week when I had a 'major setback'. Told her I had finally got an appointment with a psychiatrist and that I had to stop the sessions with the psychologist for now because it was too much. She understood - which was great. Also told her about me not sleeping and she was concerned of course but gets that we have to get the meds and other things right to help me out and that I won't be back until that is under control. She was also concerned about the money side of things and the pressure that has had on me. She is just going to continue with the current arrangements with the teacher that is on my class until she hears anything different from either me or the HR Manager that is dealing with my leave and then the return to work arrangements. This really did help to just re-affirm what she had already told me previously in that the most important thing is for me to get better and be well enough to return when I am ready to.

I think that just about covers it - another essay for you. I am really tired now - I think a bit from relief that it wasn't so bad going there and from the driving and having to talk to people. I avoided the kids - did see a few that came to the front office while I was there and had lots of hugs - had a bit of a cry on the way home because I really miss all the kids (and the work too).

@Former-Member if you are available sometime this afternoon for a chat that would be great. Let me know via a post or an email.
