Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Re: Am Not Coping

Oh bugger @utopia Hope the antihistamine works So hard to keepgoing when you are having so much trouble with the chemical reactions - stick in there as much as you can but your health comes first my friend - if you can't put up with it then don't! Surely your boss must be able to see what it is doing to you - duty of care????

Yep 7 hours total - wow

My anxiety isn't too bad so far today. I just went to the shop and actually had a conversation with one of the girls that works there - she's been there a while and I used to chat to her a bit. She asked if I was off work again and I told her I hadn't been back at all yet - that it will be another couple of months at least. I didn't even feel anxious about telling her - huge win!!! She knows I am a teacher and was always in there buying stuff for school or for the kids. She told me last year she was going to nominate me for an award but didn't know my name OR what school I was at - didn't matter - just the thought was enough!

I really think that using my brain a bit last night has been really good for me. It has been so long since I have been at work and I really needed that mental stimulation - maybe a combination of that and the new meds are actually helping - I hope so because I don't want to continue going like I have been!

Fingers crossed that I am starting to turn the corner a bit

Re: Am Not Coping

@Zoe7. That sounds really promising.
And how cool that she wanted to nominate you. I don't think teachers get the recognition they deserve - so is extra nice when it comes from someone outside if the school.
I didn't last. Anti hystermine didn't work. It rarely does - but the last two days it helped. Just not today.
My body is itchy all over. I'm about to jump in the shower and wash it all away. And then wash my clothes that I was wearing.
And then I'll sleep for a few hrs. That's the normal pattern. Haven't been sick with the allergies for a fair while. Get complacent and forget what it's like. And because my system is going nuts. I'm now reacting to the perfumes soaps and washing powder on other people. Will isolate myself for the rest of the day / night.
I hope you enjoy your day. Are you going to get into your art supplies and create today?

That really sucks @utopia. Look after yourself today 😷 I''m in the hospital at the moment - don't worry - one of my ex students crashed into a brick wall on her push bike. Just seeing her - will check back in later.

Re: Am Not Coping

@Zoe7. I hope she is alright. If she gets plaster - you may be the first to sign it. That's pretty cool for a kid to get the teacher to sign it.
I'm hoping now that I've said that - that it's nothing serious. A few stitches or a simple break. Take care of yourself.
I'm okay.

Re: Am Not Coping

Hi again @utopia. Just got home. My little girl has been released. She has a cracked cheekbone and lots of bruises on her arms and legs. She was riding a motorised pushbike - with no helmet!!!! Apparently the power wouldn't switch off and she had no brakes - does not surprise me - she's no angel - but one of my all time favourite kids! I had her for 2 years in grades 3 and 4 - absolutely love her - she's now in grade 7.

Did not like going into the hospital - so you know how much she means to me

Just going to try and relax again now I'm home - anxiety has risen a bit - can't sleep because have to go to chemist and GP in a couple of hours - so going to cuddle Toby and try to breathe through it for now.

Hope the shower helped you a bit, you can get some sleep and the itchy stops quickly for you.

Re: Am Not Coping

So glad it's not more serious @Zoe7. It could have been devastating - motorised and No Helmet!!! Shit. My kid is not allowed on a bike scooter or skateboard without a helmet.
The bruises and cracked cheek bone might make her more likely to wear a helmet next time. Well I can hope.
Yes I thought she must be special for you to walk into a hospital. I understand that. I avoid the city - but just had to push myself to go, when my friend and other mum was dying.
So well done for pushing through that fear.
I think today and tonight - except for gp and meds - you may need to take it super easy.
Toby is very lucky to be getting so many cuddles. If Cat was around - she could too.
Is there sometime at home that you could eat, drink, play with, use etc - as a reward? And also as a ssoothing technique?
My shower helped a lot. Minimal itching - only to face and head. So that's a relief for me.
You may like to re read f&h's Santorini and other posts while you wait for your gp appointment. Or look at the cat in the window photos. There's an image to paint. Lol.
Take care. I'm here if you need me.

Re: Am Not Coping

@utopia the little bugger is a bit of a hand full. She has been in so much trouble over the last few years - she even got suspended on her first day at high school But she is a beautiful kid - all I've ever received from her is 100% love. She gave me the biggest hug when I saw her - even though her face was hurting!! Her mum does love her and does what she can - but she has so many kids and such a crappy life herself that she just doesn't have the resources to deal with them. She is a good person but can't get her own sh*t together enough.

I am feeling like I should do more for them but I know I can't - they know I will help them in any way possible but at the moment I'm not able to do much - if only they knew how hard it was to go into the hospital!

I'm doing ok - anxiety is a bit high but under control for now. Toby is asleep next to me - he's really close so he must sense it! I finally received my paperwork in the mail today but nothing sent by email as yet. My GP will be furious if she hasn't received it. I took a quick look at all the forms and started stressing - so I put them aside for now. There is so much to go through and I am just not in the right headspace to cope with it. If I had them last night I would probably have them all completed by now - what a difference a small thing like visiting hospital can have - and I thought I was doing so well!

I'm trying not to be too hard on myself and tell myself this will pass and I will be ok but that is taking away any energy I had this morning. My Mum and Dad called in just before I found out about my girl in hospital - yes another visit - count is 4 visits in 6 days. They had been to their financial adviser or something like that and called in on their way hoem. It was nice to see Dad - and he just loves Toby (and Toby loves him) - so that was really cute to watch their interaction. They didn't stay long and because Dad was here too Mum couldn't crap on with her usual shite - so that was good too!

I hope you the itching to your face and head goes away quickly. Are you going to go back to work there this week? Or can they put you somewhere else that doesn't have the same sensitivities around you?

I'm going to have a shower and see if that relaxes me a bit more - can feel the anxiety rising a bit.

Will check back in before I go to my GP.

Re: Am Not Coping

@Zoe7. It's great to see that you can understand that the mum is struggling and doing the best she can given the circumstances. Because it is hard not to feel judged as a parent wgen we are struggling.
How cool she gave you a hug. I bet if she ever met Toby - that would be it - you'd be second fiddle to him. Lol. Sounds like dad adores him. Which is so nice when our fur babies are part of our family. And at leadt having dad there - kept your mums opinions to herself. Gotta love dad even mire for that.
YOU are doing brilliantly with your anxiety. Anyone would struggle today with the hospital visit. So cut yourself some slack.
Give the papers to yiur gp. She can then see what is needed. And you can out them aside for another day. And if you can only answer 2 questions tomorrow - then that's all you do. You'll get it filled in - in the next week. Don't put too much pressure on yourself.
Have a relaxing shower. Get something nice or light to eat. And relax and breathe til your appointment time.

Re: Am Not Coping

@utopia My girl already knows Toby. She was in my class when I got him 3 years ago. I took him to school everyday for the first 3 weeks with me and he spent each day in the classroom. He comes to all outside of school activities I organise and she usually looks after him for me when she is there too. She is so lovely with him - anyone that is so lovely to animals has to be a good person in my eyes. She has just got a kitten and I think he will be really good for her - maybe she will want to spend more time with him and less time wandering around the streets getting into trouble!

My Dad and I do have a much better relationship now than when I was younger!!!! Confronting him when I did and dealing with his violence has certainly had a big impact on how he treats me now - and how we get along.

I think you are right - give the papers to my GP and let her sort out what I need to do from there - too much for me to think about - especially this afternoon. SH*T I am doing ok!!!!!!

The shower relaxed me a little and also woke me up a bit. I'm heading off now to my appointment - no doubt she'll be running late as usual so will probably be able to log on while I'm there. Chat later my beautiful friend - so glad to have you around supporting me so much - it really does mean a lot to me Only wish I could do the same for you

Re: Am Not Coping

Hi @Faith-and-Hope @Pepsimax @ Phoenix_Rising @utopia
Waiting at the doctor's - she's running late as usual 😁 Still a bit anxious but have moved out of the main reception area and into a quieter spot - the staff here are so nice - moved some chairs for me to get out of the noise when I need to! Hope everyone else's day has gone ok so far!
