Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Re: Am Not Coping

Hi @Zoe7 @Pepsimax @utopia @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

I achieved my two goals - well done me. I have to work hard at feeling good about that, rather than feeling frustrated that those goals only took me until around mid-day and then I crashed and had to go and snuggle under my weighted blanket for a few hours. I have to keep telling myself that it is better to achieve something rather than nothing, even if the something is still far less than I want to achieve. If I take one tiny baby step per day towards getting out of my muddle, then in a week I will have taken seven baby steps...which is much better than taking none!

@Faith-and-Hope Dealing with metabolic syndrome sounds like the pits .

@Zoe7 I hope your appointment with your GP went well.

Hey, look at me, I'm responding to different people in one post! I've discovered a work-around for my poor memory. I have a second computer screen hooked up to my main laptop so when I'm at this computer, I can open the forum page twice. On one screen I can read all the posts, and on the other I can respond. Oh I am so set for the Friday Feast now!!!!

Re: Am Not Coping

Wtg @Phoenix_Rising .... 😊👍🏼

I love how you are so proactive despite all the struggles to get through .... you try to just focus on the positives and keep stepping up .... you're so right about the baby steps .... just gotta keep them happening and progress comes along with them.

Metabolic Syndrome caught me by surprise. It's a whole other story .....

It has an insulin release / balance basis .... leads towards pre-diabetes.and insulin resistance. I couldn't work out how I got stuck in it when my lifestyle is active and my diet is healthy and balanced, until a nutritionist pointed out that the body reads white flour as sugar, and the multi-grain bread I was eating had a ap white flour base .... and explained abut the difference re good fats and bad fats.

That wasn't enough by itself though .... my active lifestyle ought to have balanced it out well enough .... the hidden factor was the amount of stress I was managing .... have been juggling high-stress situations for many years, like WH .... as much as if I were CEO in a stressful organisation, only ours was family, life circumstances, and over-flow from our business. Stress causes insulin release .... might as well have been eating cream-cakes.

WH was in Metabolic Syndrome as well, but his e.d. took him out of that zone within about 18 months .... however all the toxic junk that get stored with the condition has probably impacted his system pretty hard in the process, and of course all the rest of the fall-out is what we are still battling ...

Tortoise and hare, we are .... :face_with_rolling_eyes:😜

That's me ... On the left .... lol .... 💗

And yeah ... it sucks ... apart from anything else, it leaves WH's life change looking like a success, and I was told by the GP and others more than once that I ought to be taking a leaf out of his book .... grrr ... but all that will come clear in the long run.

My in-law family are starting to become confused about the fact that I am slowly losing the mid-section weight (classic defining feature of Met-Bol Synd.) without the crash-di#ting and excessive exercise that has been their only weight-management perspective.

i hope my progress encourages others .... have to avoid the scales cos MBS makes you very heavy for your body size (won't go into all the detail here) .... so you have to focus instead on clothing fit and how you feel instead.

Re: Am Not Coping

@Phoenix_Rising . You are so right. Baby steps add up. So well done on achieving yoyr two goals today. That's a pat on the back.
I love how you opened up the SANE Forum on two screens. I never would have thought of doing that. But I wish I did - especially when my memory was particularly bad.
Hi @Zoe7. Yes work sucks. Last two days I've had allergic reactions. And it's because the paperwork I'm going through has been with the mechanics/engineers. My chemical sensitivities are screaming. Rashes on hands arms face and legs. But amazingly the anti hystermines have worked. But I just bought some non latex (yes allergic to latex/rubber) gloves - so I'll use them tomorrow at work. Just to touch their paperwork and their desks and computers. Lol.
I'm off to mow a little bit of my backyard. Howquickly it turns into a jungle.
Hello to everyone

Re: Am Not Coping

OMG @utopia You would not believe this - I came home from GP and decided to mow my little patch of backyard before I did anything else - hadn't even read any messages yet and there yours was _doing the same!!!! Figured I had to fight through the lethargy to do it as it was starting to get too long and I didn't want to sit outside and look at it. When the sun is out and I am not feeling great my favourite place to BE is in a corner of my backyard where I have built a small deck and rock mosaic and concrete base under the trees. It's very peaceful and I can just sit with Toby and do nothing but listen to the birds.

So glad the antihistamines have worked - don't forget your gloves when you are touching - well everything it seems

@Phoenix_Rising Well done on achieving your two goals - yes baby steps develop into bigger steps and then one day you will find yourself 'running' - so well done today You will certainly be ready for friday feast now re your two computers. Also opening up several screens on the one computer for different threads can help you navigate around different messages at once. I can do that when my head is working but not so well when I am struggling. I think I found it easier to get around on New Year's Eve when we were trying to chase Hurricane @Former-Member around on her 'pub crawl' - that was one hectic night - and a great night of fun - only @Appleblossom could actually keep up with her - she was too quick even for me!

@Pepsimax Sounds like you have made some good plans from your meeting today - well done

@Faith-and-Hope I try to avoid the scales these days also - bit tired of people saying I have lost weight - I know that - I'm not well!!!! Sounds like you have had a lot of unnecessary consequences from people because of how WH has dealt with it - and placed so much strain on you - and you have to deal with the fallout!!! That really sucks!!!

Hiya everybody .... 😊💕

Got some more packing done waiting for "coffee hour" ....

Yeah &Zoe7 ..... have had an avalanche of smallish (next to the problems others are challenged with) sucky stuff for a long time .... have had to learn to switch off with some of it, and pace myself with other stuff .....

Getting successful by degrees .... ❣
