OCD/Contamination OCD

OCD/Contamination OCD

Does anyone else suffer from contamination OCD/germaphobia? I have been struggling so much, particularly the past 6 months or so. It's making my life a living nightmare. I already had anxiety, depression and panic disorder (for most of my life) but this on top of everything else is destroying me. My marriage in particular is suffering because of it. My husband is trying to be understanding but he also suffers from anxiety and depression so my behaviours can often bring him down and drive him crazy. I am talking to a psychologist over the phone but it doesn't seem to be helping so far, and I really don't want to go back on meds.

By connecting here on the forums, I hope you find an outlet while you wait for other supports to be available @Undecided

Do you think the tension of having a ticking timer adds to the stress?
