A place to exhale

A place to exhale

Well the eggshells I've been in at my mums with her husband have finally reached a limit. Mum has been talking about leaving her partner after she's been more aware of the behaviours and how unhealthy they are.

Today he made a statement about splitting and assumed mum would leave the house as he stated she is choosing someone over her own husband. Not to be mean but they've been together 10 years and he's not a parent and I'm her daughter of 35 years who has just been working through a sever disability. We have just equipped the house and he thinks we should leave?. Logic is telling me he has always been like this and I was just the last thing but it's hard to not take it personally and not be triggered by own experiences.

Anywya mum has gone to work and he's here slamming doors and banging and I'm just hiding in my room trying to avoid conflict and stay calms, while also not worrying what the next days entail after already so much displacement.

ah life is surely never boring.

Thanks @tyme

I'm onto it @Former-Member . We just have to work out how to connect with you because the our Guided Service line doesn't accept incoming calls. But as you mentioned, you are not able to pick up calls - is that right?

Whatever it is, please know I'm here on the forums for you while you wait 🙂

Re: A place to exhale

Yes I do use national relay service to make calls but not sure if I can receive.

But thank you I have taken over facilitation over my healthcare so I'm trying to be more in control and have better understanding. I seem to have felt more productive on my own in 3 days then with people's help🤷🏻‍♀️😂 anyway well get there.

Thanks for your help @tyme

i am leaving my house for the first time in 2 weeks tomorrow trying to not stress out as it's always a tough time since disability.

Re: A place to exhale

Woohoo! @Former-Member

Congrats to you! You've got all my moral support as you venture out tomorrow. I'd love to check in with you when I'm on next to see how it went.

Anyway, maybe it's better not to over think it and just - do it?

I hear what you mean by how hard it is to get out. I do a lot of work in disability, and I can see how many environmental factors disable people further. Even turning wheelchairs around corners, people parking in driveways, no wheelchair friendly kerbs... this is only the beginning.. I could go on forever!

Sitting with you 🙂

Omg @tyme @the wheelchair kerb is my anxiety so many places are just not accessible I'm just lucky I got an electric wheelchair now so if I need to wheel my way a little it's all good

Re: A place to exhale

Argh.... yeah. Totally hearing you. @Former-Member

And as if you need more things in the environment to further disempower you!

How are you today anyway?

Thinking of you. I was driving home today and thinking of you, wondering how you are going.

Re: A place to exhale

Well you know what @Former-Member ?

As least you ventured out. I hope you were able to rest up.

How are you feeling today?

Re: A place to exhale

Hi @tyme I just wanted to reach out to see if you know if there is anything else I can do to access the sane guided program. I have emailed but have not heard anything.
