Bipolar treatment

Bipolar treatment

Hi I have bipolar 2 and am on a mood stabiliser [edited by moderator] and my symptoms are not improving. In fact they seem to be getting worse. I fly into bursts of sudden rage especially, but not only, when driving. Small things really anger me too. Can anyone explain why my symptoms appear to be getting worse not better? Should I try a different medication. I have tried mindfulness and unhooking strategies. Should I get treated by a psychiatrist?

Re: Bipolar treatment

Hey there @NoonianSingh ,

Sorry to hear things haven't been working so well. Unfortunately, these forums are for peer-to-peer support and therefore, more clinical conversations around medication are best to be discussed with your treating team.

If you feel your current medication is not working for you, we encourage you to let your doctor know.

We welcome you if you are seeking the connection and support that may help you through this rough patch.

See you around.

Re: Bipolar treatment

Hi @NoonianSingh

I have bipolar 2 as well and was having a lot of anger. My psychiatrist in hospital said it was a form of mania. She changed my meds around and now I’m not angry all the time. I’m quite calm and haven’t had any outbursts.

I’ve had a lot of med changes while getting in the right track.

I suggest that you speak with your treating team and let them know about the anger. They may be able to guide you into a more stable situation.
