Me too - glad you could laugh @Faith-and-Hope. It would have definitely been a FFS phone call between my friend and I had it been one of us 😁

WH has been in this form of e.d. for 7 years now ..... had a lot of cry-my-heart-out moments when I realised he was swinging into this mold, which is the one MIL raised him (and his bros) into when I thought we had broken loose of it many years ago, and there was nothing I could do to stop it from happening .....

Then came a couple of years of grieving the loss of the relationship and accepting being "married" to someone who looks like WH, and behaves a lot like him, even sounds like him at times ..... but isn't him .... and isn't ''mine" .... yet ..... have to live in faith that we will recover ....

Realised this week that if we are moving into Stage 2 of recovery, I am going to have to guard my heart against trying to re-engage with him emotionally too soon, and getting hurt in the process .....

I have a girlfriend here who drove for an hour across the city to see me tonight hit half an hour ... then drove for an hour back again to pick up her daughter from a night class .....
