trying to be calm in my mind, taking days at a time, letting go of some things

trying to be calm in my mind, taking days at a time, letting go of some things

Hello Friends its me again its been not so long this time between visits here , I am still lonely but slowly making my way through each day one point Ive made is to try really hard this time to let go of some very unhelpful things in a particular area of my life and I supose yet again try to reset myself ,slowly but surely ,whats currently helping is once again self care ,cups of tea ,little treats just because,Ive tried to improove sleep routine yet again ,I guess Im basically trying to have a calm outlook if possible with the little things and yes definetely let go of at least one major stumbling block ,buying a few new clothes for myself just because ,trying to keep hydrated , I have still felt depressed but not to the same degreee , sometimes we have to tell ourselves to simply breathe , Just setting small goals ,like for example being able to attend an appointment ,or being able to make phone calls ,or just taking a little time to be that little bit social if the opurtunity is there just little things I think thats wahst helping me through ,each time ,I guess a little self kindness goes a long way ,little acheivements, only doing as much as I feel like doing per day ,being spring I guess its good to declutter the mind of the unhelpfull if possible in terms of thoughts or outlook ,just bit by bit ,its ok not to be able to control everything I guess just letting myself breathe anyway Ill check in again when needed thanks forum friends for reminding me that you care that in itself has helped much hugs , Lost Angel

Hi @LostAngel, great to hear you are working towards caring more and more for yourself. You are totally right in that its a case of one step at a time, and building a list of small wins along the way. Feel free to drop in anytime, even if it's just to say hi.

Thank you for posting that, @LostAngel.

I’m very new here to the forums and seem to be in a similar situation. I, too, live from day to day with a goal of just putting a week together, just 7 consecutive days consisting of more good than bad.

I have spent so much of my life giving my all to others that I’ve very nearly forgotten what self care actually is. I’m still relearning it all. Like you, I find a nice cup of coffee, or a quiet read of my favourite book to be very helpful. I’m currently slowly updating my wardrobe, treating myself to some of the everyday things that just went by the wayside somewhere over the years.

Being social is still new to me as I struggle to find and make meaningful connections, to allow myself to be friends with anyone. It is so very hard. But, when I can, I try to find a way forward. It is difficult.

I commend you for your bravery, for sharing your experiences with everyone. And I thank you for reminding me that I am not the only one living thru similar circumstances.

Hi @LostAngel

So good to hear from you again.

It really sounds like things are moving in the right direction for you. Also sounds like you are putting in the hard work for them to move in that direction. All those small wins can make us feel so much better. I also love that fact that you are setting goals for yourself and accomplishing them.

So what I'm trying to say is well done, you are achieving so much and you should be really proud of yourself.

Please know we do care and will always be here for you.
