Something’s not right

I can't think

I can't think

Everything's confusing, my minds a mess, I don't know what to feel or think, I don't know what choices I should make, I just wish someone could tell me what to do, everything all messy in my head, I'm uncomfortable because I don't know what to do, and I don't even know why I'm feeling this way, it's like I'm downing, Im downing in my own head, and I don't know how to swim out of it or even if I should.

Re: I can't think

Hey 👋🏼 @Cats101 are you getting any sleep?

Are you in a safe place?

Do you have any support?

When I read “Everything's confusing, my minds a mess,

and I don't even know why I'm feeling this way,”

I know these feelings and it is crippling.

I don’t know what you have experienced or your current situation.

If it wasn’t for SANE’s trauma experienced Peer Support Worker who counselled me and the Forum community, I can honestly say I wouldn’t be here today.

Hi @Cats101

I hear how confusing and tough last night was for you and I wanted to check in on how you're feeling this morning? Here for you if you need to talk, or as @Glisten you can always give SANE's helpline a call on  1800 187 263.

Re: I can't think

Hey @Cats101 it certainly sounds like you are under and incredible amount of stress and at feeling completely overwhelmed. While we are always here to support you, do you have people there you can talk to? Have you spoken to anyone at the crisis lines? I just really feel like it sounds you need to sit down and talk to someone to try and make some sense of these thoughts, and just make things a little less overwhelming for yourself.

We can get so many thoughts swirling around in our heads that we just start to struggle to even function. It's important to just get some of it out and try to get some control back. Is there anything we can do to help you right now?

Re: I can't think

Honestly, I don't know if I'm safe or not, I've never felt safe anywhere.

My parents try ther best but theres only so much they can do. Because of there own limitations and mental health.

Re: I can't think

I don't have anyone to talk to, it's too expensive to see a counsellor and where I live I'm not a citizen so I can't get benefits and my mums at counselling at the moment and that's all we can barly afford.

Re: I can't think

@Cats101 if you type this symbol @ and a list will pop up of the user names on your post.

I’m going to tag @Ru-bee @MJG017 and @tyme because they will have the information you need in regards to free counselling services and if any support services are available to you because you're not an Australian citizen.

Re: I can't think

Thanks @Glisten. @Cats101, I know that not being a citizen places a lot of extra hurdles to getting support. Luckily there are a number of community programs that don't require Medicare to access. I'm going to send you an email so that we can talk about some free resources that might suit you.

Re: I can't think

Hi @Cats101

It sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now, and youre feeling extremely overwhelmed. It's completely understandable that decision making is challenging at the moment.

When I'm feeling overwhelmed, I also find it hard to make decisions, even with simple things like choosing toothpaste. Sometimes, I become so frustrated that I walk away with nothing. When it comes to bigger decisions, I've learned that giving myself space and time to reflect can make all the difference. It helps me avoid acting impulsively or in a way that might not be in my best interest.

One approach that works for me is writing out the pros and cons. Listing everything helps me see the situation more clearly and weigh the benefits and consequences of my choices. Getting all that mental noise onto paper makes room for clearetr thinking and helps me feel more confident in my decisions.

So, if you can, give yourself permission to take a step back before deciding. And most importantly, be gently with yourself during this time of overwhelm.

Kindly Alisse.
