Re: What's that smell? ...and other conundrums

hey @FridgeMagnet i'm so sorry that you've had to deal with that, hearing a conversation like that can definitely be really heavy to hear. i know that we're all untitled to our own opinion, but it definitely is surprising to hear that sort of opinion from someone who you'd expect to have more faith in you and others. the good news is people's opinions are NOT facts, this particular person may not see hope or understand things the same way you do or even the same way i do! personally, i believe everyone has hope of getting better, no matter how at risk they are- they deserve a fighting chance and they deserve to have people believe in them. what this person has said about 'doing nothing' is honestly shocking for me to hear as well, is there someone at SafeHaven you can contact and discuss this with? it does not seem right to have someone who's supposed to be 'supportive' to do the complete opposite... definitely worth bringing this up with someone!!
just know that his opinion does not define your worth EVER. you deserve to feel safe and be supported at your high and low moments, and i'm so sorry this experience has made you feel hesitant to go there tonight. is it possible to still go there and avoid interacting with that particular member? if not, please do reach out to other services whenever you need:

i know how upsetting it can be to hear such things, especially while dealing with depression - it takes a lot of strength to consider reaching out for help, so please don't let this person stop you from reaching out. sitting with you 💗

@FridgeMagnet yep i see, it's definitely a bit of an uncomfortable situation to be put in, definitely not fair on you either. hopefully you get the chance to bring it up with the person who runs it, you are 100% right it should be around prevention. it can be hard to feel like you can trust a person who's sanctioning it, so hopefully someone's able to talk to them about this.

no worries at all, i'm around for a few more hours tonight if you'd like to chat more 💗
