I feel really depressed and restless, my thoughts are racing and I have lots of nervous energy. Can’t stop my thoughts, I feel like I’m on the edge and I don’t know what to do. I’ve been eating PRN on a regular basis since Friday which helps a bit, but it hasn’t been enough to settle me

Re: Managing mixed episodes with Bipolar
I don’t know @Ru-bee. I’m torn, my mind doesn’t want me here, but the finality of suicide is real. I’ll never know what life will bring in the future or ever get to achieve my goals if I do it

Okay @creative_writer sounds like these thoughts are getting pretty serious at the moment, I'm glad you've been able to reach out here. Are you safe right now?
Do you feel able to reach out to Lifeline (13 11 14 or Crisis Chat ) or Suicide call back service (1300 659 467 or online counselling )?

Re: Managing mixed episodes with Bipolar
@Ru-bee I’m safe. I did try calling up SANE this morning but hung up because the line was busy and I was waiting for 30min plus, which I totally get, it’s public holiday in certain parts of Australia. I did go to Lifeline chat afterwards, but couldn’t get myself to wait. I think part of me was worried that it wouldn’t be helpful because I’ve had mixed experiences in the past

Good on you for reaching out in the first place @creative_writer, it's a shame about the wait times, I know that is just about the last place you want to be waiting but it is a sign of how many others are reaching out too. Do you feel up to giving SANE another call?

Re: Managing mixed episodes with Bipolar
@Ru-bee I took some time off, feeling a bit better. I’m laying low today, very sensitive to light today and very exhausted. I’ll give SANE another call if I need it later. It’s been a crazy day

Re: Managing mixed episodes with Bipolar
Hey @creative_writer, I'm sorry you're going through this right now. I'm not sure what else to suggest other than what @Ru-bee has already done. If you feel like it is getting worse, is there an ED you could get to? I now it's probably a last resort with wait times, but at least you'd be around other people who can help. Sorry I can add anything else, other than we're here with you and will support you however you want us to.

Re: Managing mixed episodes with Bipolar
@MJGO17 I am avoiding ED, it's just about keeping myself safe till my pdoc appointment tomorrow, even if it means relying on PRN. I am having a break from SI rn, just hoping it doesn't turn back on my doorstep. It was pretty bad earlier today, it's taken so much of me, so I will need to take today easy. Didn't get much uni done, but that can wait. I still have time to finish my slides, I am currently doing the fun part, the formatting, making pretty slides is therapeutic

Yeah makes sense that'd really take it out of you @creative_writer
Taking it easy tonight and just keeping yourself safe sounds like a good idea.
What are the slides on?

@Ru-bee I'm doing a unit on program planning for my social work degree. So the slides are on proposal of our hypothetical program, I have the presentation on Thursday
