Relationship support groups Perth

Relationship support groups Perth

Hi,

I am currently in a complicated relationship and I have experienced some different forms of DV as well as my partner having a 1+ year affair. I am engaging with formal support but was looking for support groups with other women who have experienced similar things. Thanks.

Hi @CK8, I don't live in WA so I'm not sure, but I found the following links that may help you find what you are looking for.

https://mwhcp.org.au/links/domestic-violence/

https://www.dss.gov.au/ending-violence/help-and-support

It may not be just support groups but some of the services listed would be able to point you in the right direction I would assume.

Hey @CK8, I'm sorry to hear that you've been experiencing this sorta stuff in your relationship. No one deserves to be on the receiving end of violence, be it physical or emotional.

It can definitely be tricky finding support groups, you might have better luck contacting some local women's support services and asking them if they can point you in the right direction! I found this website called the 'Centre for Women's Safety and Wellbeing', they seem to be specific to WA - and they have a directory here, which might also be helpful in finding out what kinds of services are available in your area.

For further support, as well as a counselling support line, you can check out 1800RESPECT 😊

Also quick lil tip, if you want other members to be notified that you've responded, you can tag them - use the @ symbol and a drop down will appear, and you can choose their name. If their name isn't there, you can type it out and it should then appear for you to select, then it will show up in blue, like this: @MJG017
