Something’s not right

The road feels very long

The road feels very long

Hi,

I’m new here. I’ve recently been diagnosed with CPTSD and completed an inpatient program.

I have supports in place but it’s a hard slog every day and I’m so very tired at the end of the day. Always feel one slip away from spiralling.
It’s been hard for 34 years but now I’ve been diagnosed, I feel like theres still such a long road ahead and it’s painful.
I’m exhausted but still fighting.

  • Hi lm glad to hear that you are still fighting l understand how hard it is. l have cptsd and major depression. I have had it since a teenager at least but as not diagnosed until l was about 31. For the toughest part is trying to make friends who will understand because most cant handle some of my depression or emotional reactions it which l guess that l can understand?.

Hello @Bly and welcome to the forums

I hear so much strength throughout this post. I know that it must have been a difficult fight to get to this point, and with this diagnosis the fight isn't over, but now you know what you're fighting. And now that you've joined this community you'll have people here cheering you on every step of the way.

While I'm here I'd also like to welcome you too @Brenita it's wonderful to see new members supporting each other and connecting

Hi @Bly

Welcome to the forums. I hope you find what you are looking for here. Its great to see the support from @Brenita (welcome to you too 🙂 ) and @Ru-bee and I'm sure there will be many other members that will reach out and offer support to you too.

I know how confronting it can be to get a diagnosis after such a long time, but also comforting in a way as you and your treating team know how to approach it moving forward. Your strength and determination is so loud in your words. I'm so glad to hear that you are still fighting and plan to keep fighting even though you are understandably exhausted.

We will be here to support you on your journey and celebrate the wins with you.

Warm regards
