physical illness impacting mental health

physical illness impacting mental health

hi all i have been in a weird manic type mood for about a month or two and i do believe i am still in said mood except i have fallen ill with a stomach flu for the last 8 days and i am hoping i start to get better soon but i am worried this is going to drag out i am not sleeping but idk if that is my mood or because i am in too much pain from my stomach or both anyway this flu has made me feel kind of irritable and emotionally exhausted and it just is leaving me very uncomfortable. i havent been able to concentrate much at all and so my uni work is falling even further behind which isnt good and i am struggling to manage basic stuff too which i suppose isnt new but it is getting worse and i just i think i thought this flu thing would be over in a few days but it is dragging on and on and on and i am running out of steam. anyway does anyone know of any good things to help self soothe because the things i have been trying arent working?

Sorry to hear you're not well @Eden1919 . Several of my family tested positive to flu recently and also had gastro symptoms. It lasted maybe 3 weeks.

Self-soothing can be either selfcare or distraction or maybe finding something meaningful to do. I'm just chilling atm with the cat snuggled beside me. Do you do any art or craft?
