Nightmares
I have a quarrelsome relationship with sleep I never slept when I was supposed to as a kid and once I was asleep I could not be awoken easily. This pattern continued into teen years despite sleeping medication [edited by moderator], then a different med [edited by moderator] later for Depression as well varying doses. I didn't dream on this med I didn't rest either if I was forced awake I was a grumbling lumbering individual. It would take till I was 25 for this to be identified as Hyposomnia along with the Insomnia. PTSD took a new trauma and for me to speak up despite the signs of me being reactive when people woke me up in my bed punching and violently waking from my sleep.
New medication I wanting to dream and rest, it worked [medication name removed]. I rest better, but I dream and I wasn't anticipating the Nightmares from PTSD.
Medication addition [medication name removed] to be used with another med to aid in calming PTSD reactions during sleep aka Nightmares issues can be low blood pressure so far ok but have to keep an eye
The Nightmares still come the medication is not fully balance right, therapy to help in the mean time.
All the tools in the world I can utilise during the day but so many nights I'm just terrified to go to sleep. Wake up to tell myself I'm safe at the moment. Repeat. My day starts and ends terrified.
