I feel pretty shakey today, but I'm glad I took the day off too.

I tend to just go on what I feel like. I love cake. But it'll be a decision I make when I walk into the coffee shop and see what's on offer.

Also, I'm due for blood tests too to monitor my iron levels. Only, I'm the odd one out because mine were high last time.

@rav3n Hello beautiful how are you? Here we are in the low iron club. Mines caused from Thallasemia and I’ve had to have blood infusions too in the past. Last hospital stay after surgery had 7 blood infusions and an iron infusion too. Do you know what causes your low iron?

I really like cakes. Chocolate or vanilla with icing! I’m also very fond of carrot cake too yum yum. What about you?

woah 7 blood + iron infusions!? that sounds like so much to go through!! i can only imagine how draining that must’ve been, physically and emotionally. Thalassemia really adds a whole other layer to everything, doesn’t it?

i'm not too sure of cause of my iron deficiency - my mum and sister have it too. we're thinking it might be because our diets might not have much iron in it. i think my sister's menstrual cycle also effects hers a lot more. we're also all vitamin d deficient, none of us get a 'normal' range for that during blood tests 😂

sounds like none us can get our iron to be normal, at least we have that in common!

i love cakes too @NightFury i'm a big fan of anything chocolate as well @Cuddlebear. i recently tried a ferrero rocher inspired mini cake from Brunetti's and it was soooo good. sweet treats really lift my mood hehe

@rav3n Yeah it can be iron intake from food which is the most common cause. I’m glad you keep an eye on it and the vitamin D.

lol I meant 7 blood transfusions and 1 iron infusion 🙂 The blood transfusions were not any fun but they kept me alive which is awesome. It’s a very weird thing having blood transfusions.

@Ru-bee That sounds like a wonderful and very relaxing plan. The cafes have such yummy treats and food too. Sitting there knitting and just watching people walking by very relaxing. I have a friend who is an excellent knitter. He carries his knitting with him and knits while on public transport or when we are sitting at a cafe or park. What kind of things do you knit?

Yes I love to people watch, especially when in a different city @Cuddlebear and I find that knitting can be a great conversation starter, which normally I might not seek out as I'm naturally a very shy person, but I love to talk about knitting. I'm knitting a jumper at the moment, I actually have a few jumpers on the go at once but I think I'll need to take a smaller project with me on this trip as I only have carry on luggage for the flight so perhaps a beanie. Do you have any cosy hobbies that you enjoy?
