Sorry, I'm a little confused. I'm sorry if my post came across that only you are fighting battles. That is not what I meant at all.

I was saying that in recovery, we all have to be responsible for fighting our own battles (including myself), but even then, it doesn't mean people can stand around and rally you on.

@Glisten the world is moving to the extreme right, and that'll do a lot of harm to all of us. As Thomas Jefferson said "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance." Those of us who wrap ourselves in the false security blanket that we're safe in Australia because we think our democracy is never affected by the rest of the world should look across the ditch because in NZ now the parliament iis debating a bill very similar to the one the British high court passed, based on the decree passed by Donald Trump making it illegal for transgender people to use public single sex amenities, including toilets. I read the decree and the High Court version, it's available online.

It's the same as if you were to come to my place and have lunch, some coffee, tea, juice, water, and then a little later you need the toot, and just say because I'm weird I have a lock on the outside of my toilet door (yes it would be weird, but it's legal), and you say "I've got to use your toilet." and I say "No, you'll have to run on home and go to your own toilet.". @Glisten that's physical abuse.

Another thing @Glisten is that in some states in the US they've also brought back sodomy laws. The legal term "sodomy" means any sex act that isn't going to produce children, so if you have oral sex with your wife, husband or partner, even if it's heterosexual sex, that's sodomy, Now, those states even heterosexual couples engaging in non-reproductive sex acts are criminally liable. You see when you introduce these laws, they don't just affect "those people over there", they affect everyone.

What is your reason for writing your post? For what reason are you giving me this unsolicited information?

Because this is me and everyone in my community VERY anxious, and no I'm not going to go to a country where I risk being indicted just for going to the toilet.

@Glisten there are also other people using this forum who are equally anxious about this, I don't know who they are, nor would I tell anyone if I did know, that's entirely up to them to decide whether to come out on this forum, but there are lots of us using this forum, and the socio-political climate that's festering against us is scaring us, and There's evidence of it here too, not quite as bad as overseas yet.
