Re: Best Friends Club

@PeppyPatti Optometrist first detected cataract in left eye approx 3 1/2 yrs ago. Each year since then been told it’s gotten worse but not bad enough for surgery. About 3 mths ago I saw optometrist who supported my request for referral to opthamologist to discuss possible surgery. 2 weeks later I saw specialist who booked me in for surgery 4 weeks later and suggested I only do essential driving

yesterday eye was bit itchy which can be usual.

eye feeling good today. 10:30am to be discharged and have post surgery appointment with specialist

@Ainjoule job interviews can be unpredictable.

I was good at getting jobs that I didn’t want.

Some of the questions in those interviews are weird and have no context.

Then of course is the Halo effect and nepotism is still alive and well.

Good morning to you. Lots of hugs 🫂

Gday @Former-Member

Great message thankyou.

I'm still surprised re- coke....

I think when my partner went to get cancer out of kidney .......he was popped in a private hospital .....

That may have been on the menu ... ?...

I wanted to go private with him to go to hospital but he refused because the price was horrendous but the doctor put him in one anyway

Did you have a waiting time

For cataract in left eye, was that a problem as well ?

There's a lady who lives near me and her eyes are so bad, she is getting it done privately. It feels she could do more research but I can't get involved - iv got my own problems.

Itchy sound grosse.....sorry but my image is you pulling out your eyeball to scratch your eye 👀 🤯

Lol

Some artwork I did some time ago.......

Re: Best Friends Club

Thanks @Owlunar2, it's certainly not easy with family at times. I do sort of wonder if a caring and empathetic person, has part of their brain the refuses to comprehend anyone, particularly family, to be so unkind and so apathetic to others needs. And because of that, just assume it must be their own fault because there must be a reason they are being let down so badly. I know I struggle to understand why family can be so dismissive of the struggles of other family members, even if they're not that close.

I'm sorry you had to remove yourself from family but I completely understand why you needed to do so. It's so hard, but it does get to the point that there really is no other choice for our own well being. I wouldn't wish it upon anyone.

I hope your recovery continues to go well, and that that tension between your daughter and yourself continues to ease. It must be hard for the both of you, each managing your own health issues, but supporting each other can only help you both, so hopefully that continues.

I will try not to blame myself, but I think it's just who I am. I do accept that i'm doing what I need to do for my own self care though. It's just very unfortunate that I felt I had to in the first place.

Hey @Purplegirl ,

Welcome to the forums! Great to have you with us.

Coffee is culture 🙂 Have you tried a montblanc? Cold brew coffee. How old are your kids?

I look forward to getting to know you more.
