This week on the Yarning Space we will be having some yarns about culture, community, country and all these deadly.
Each day there will be a discussion prompt or question. So come back each day to join in!
If you have any particular questions you'd like answered, please share them in this thread here. We will do our best to answer them

Re: Happy NAIDOC week!!
NAIDOC week to me is a really exciting time, hope that we feel comfortable to take pride and share our culture the other 51 weeks of the year but this week is even better, it’s all about letting us shine, sharing our culture, standing proud. I love that the focus for a lot of schools, education programs, is on NAIDOC week. I love the conversation it generates (ah for the most part……)
I am sad that I am reading a lot of negativity online, some people see orgs posting about naidoc week and comment that they should stay in their lane, it as political statement etc but the reality is those orgs most likely have First Nations people working for them, close to them or families of people that are associated with them, letting them know we have their support is realy nice, they acknowledge it
We have a long way to go, tokenism is a thing, but as the theme for NAIDOC week is keep the fire burning, I hope the fire is still burning for others long after NAIDOC week, and that the conversations people are having, Aboriginal or non Aboriginal are still going when this week ends
I also think NAIDOC week this year is a statement of resilience. Last year we had a really difficult year, a lot of us felt hurt, unheard, unsupported and out of place in this so called Australia.
Now is a time we come together, we show we are still here, still fighting and always will.

Great post. I had the privilege of meeting with people from Kinchela Boys Home this week - the Uncles there are the living proof of keeping the fires burning. Hope to be able to bring some of those stories into this space soon.
