I'm thinking of studying nursing or exercise physiology

I'm thinking of studying nursing or exercise physiology

I have just applied to study for this coming year in either nursing or EP?

I have put my first preference to do nursing only because the degree is 2 years and EP is 4 years.

I would love to do the EP course but I think its too long of a course.

That is so exciting @Former-Member!
Yay for study!
I've got a few friends who are EPs and Nurses, - nurses have no problems finding jobs, but EPs have significantly more difficulty in finding a job.
Did you like physics/maths, biology or humanities more at school? If you liked physics/maths then I'd recommend EP, but if you liked biology/humanities than I'd recommend nursing.

Thanks @Kurra

I'm leaning towards nursing because its a bit more diverse then EP

I think I will find out sometime this wk.

Thanks for the advice @Former-Member

Are your friends enjoying nursing?

They are LOVING it - one has just graduated doing ED, the other is a senior cardiology nurse.
I currently have deferred an offer of Nursing with UNE, I'm still not sure if its right for me + unsure if I could handle the prac components whilst working.

BTW I'm sure you'll make it a success whichever you choose. 😊

Hi @Former-Member I can think of 3 people ok 4 from my class in small country town who went into nursing and are still doing it 30 plus years later according to fb. think they are all RNs or specialists and have been for a long time. Sometimes I think fleetingly of it re me, but it never quite gels in my head. amazing how many male RNs at hosp other day when went there, one I spoke with briefly used to be in the Army. Some women just have a knack for it though, like the EN who was 'with' me for duration of stay, guess everyone has different ways of going about things, but she was so nice and helpful, barely stopped smiley and cheeky as well, well in a professional way. Lots of different paths anyway, seems, hospitals, aged care etc, where they seem to be king of the castle as have lots of people beneath them
