Getting out of the hole

Getting out of the hole

I recently was diagnosed with c-ptsd after a hospital visit, where I was really struggling.

I felt really good after a "proper" diagnosis but now I'm back in that hole.

I'm tired and can't be bothered with anything. I'm sensitive and everything makes me cry.

I feel like a terrible person, a terrible mother and partner. I know this means I'm really struggling.

What are some little things I can do to get out of this hole?

Thank you.

Hey @Sta ,

Thank you for sharing. I'm sorry to hear how dark things are.

I think many of us have been in that hole in the past.

What are some things you enjoy? What are some things you have tried?

I have to acknowledge your effort in coming to this space and posting. That's certainly a start.

I hope you find the support and connection you deserve on the forums.

We look forward to hearing from you.

I feel better even after posting. I'm doing little housework jobs but resting inbetween.

It's hard because I'm not enjoying anything at the moment except dissociating and scrolling which I know is making everything worse 🙃

Hugs @Sta ,

I hope you feel better soon as you connect with others who may be on a similar journey.

I myself have been in a place of darkness and I felt I was in a hole i couldn't get out of.

Re: Getting out of the hole

Hey @Sta ,

Welcome to the forums. I think for me when I have been in that hole I try to set myself very small, manageable tasks such as going for a cup of coffee or buying 4 things at the local store. It sounds like you have started to do that with the housework, go you. Once I have mastered doing one small thing, I add another....until I have lots of little things that I am doing....which adds up. That's my strategy anyway. Good on you for seeking support on the forums, hope you find the support here that you need.
