Something’s not right

Does it ever get easier - BPD&CPTSD living.

Does it ever get easier - BPD&CPTSD living.

The last four days have been rough, I’ve been put on a new morning medication and I it’s sent me into a downward spiral, everyone in my life has said to me they have never seen me this bad - and that’s friends of 16+ years even.
my partner is really struggling with it all too, I think he wants to help but doesn’t know how and I’m so touchy and up and down i can only imagine how hard it is on him.

it’s funny I thought I was at rock bottom but every day I fall a little more so I think I haven’t quite reached it yet.

my GP has been good, but I feel like he might not be specialised in mental health. He asked three times yesterday if we should go to the hospital and that just sent me it No no no! I feel safe at home and having contact with my support crew.
He was going to speak to the mental health team and try and get me into see a psychologist this week as she’s just reopened her books - so that’s a positive.

My partner and I have both been accepted into the Sane Guided program and I have a welcome call Thursday which I’m looking forward too even if there is around a months wait to start.

I’m meant to return to work on Friday and I work Saturday too.
I have a medical certificate for another week but I want to maybe try and go in even if it is only a few hours and I don’t last the day. I just want to see if it’s a good distraction and I can handle it or if I do need more time to understand and process what’s going on.

That thought process of why can’t I just be normal is a daily even hourly occurrence like I’m almost sick of my self. I do not want to die but I want it too stop if that makes any sense.

I hate that I can’t get on her and be positive but I can be real and that’s more valuable to me than my usual masking.

taking it hour by hour at this stage and just trying to be kind to myself, but I have no appetite, I’m living on veggies and bananas and vitamins so that’s better than nothing I guess.

I’ve downloaded the smiling mind app and I’m going to have a look at it soon and just start small, it’s just hard to relax enough to concentrate but I’ll get there.

I’m so grateful to have found SANE and have a safe space to vent ❤️

Hey @JAT , I'm sorry to hear how much this change in medication has sent you spiraling.

Is it strange to say that I think it's awesome that you're able to vent on here and be real about your struggles right now? I think it takes real strength to be open about the bad stuff as well as the good, and being able to express those more uncomfortable feelings is a pretty brave thing to do.

What's also impressive is the steps you're taking despite feeling so low - seeing your GP, getting a psych appointment booked, having the call for the guided service set up, downloading smiling mind, all of these are such positive actions to be taking and I'm sure it's not easy right now.

I really hope things start feeling easier again soon

Hey @Ru-bee

it’s nice too meet you. I don’t think it’s strange at all, I’m so grateful to have a safe space that I can just let it all out.

Definitely not easy, but I’m trying to just do what I can when I can to progress my recovery because I’m tired of living in my head and I want to enjoy life.

Little steps add up to big steps in the end I guess, and doing those things helps quiet the voice in a way, by taking a tiny bit of control for the future.

I hope they do too, thank you for your support.

👋🏼 Hi @JAT I get it. I really do. You want the pain to stop. The fear of reliving the pain.

Are you sleeping?

Have you got things to do with your hands, like sewing, knitting 🧶 Baking cookies. Word puzzles, jigsaw puzzles?

I'm really happy that you are on your way to getting the help you need! I relate a lot to having a partner that wants to help but doesn't know how to.

My GP is also pretty clueless, according to the staff at my recent hospital stay GPs tend to not know a lot about mental health so getting any guidance from them can be a struggle. I find it so frustrating that we have to initially get referrals from a GP.

your struggle with mental health issues is valid, no one should expect you to magically be able to function. issues with the brain are just as valid as issues with any other organ. I wish you luck with everything going on, please be gentle with yourself ^.^

Hey @Glisten,

Nice to meet you - and thank you for checking in.

My sleeping patterns have been a bit chaotic - waking up most days between 2-4 and just getting up and reading or just looking at the forums - I find some weird peace that others are doing it tough to and I don’t feel so alone. Not that I want anyone to be doing it tough tho! I hope I explained that properly.

I have also been having a lot of nightmares on the nights I’m waking up, and that might contribute to getting up because going back to sleep kinda scared me.

last night I had a good sleep but it was due to medication, and if that’s what it takes at the moment than so be it.

It might sound strange but I literally just sit, I’ll be on my phone looking at things (have been avoiding social media the last couple of weeks due to not wanting to compare my life ect and just get worse).

I love reading, and having a book in my hand but I’m finding it hard to concentrate so I’m reading the same page three times which turns into frustration and I give up.

I’m 38 years old and I don’t know what I like and I don’t know how to entertain myself or distract myself if that makes sense, I just sit. That probably sounds a bit weird, but that’s what do 🫥

No @JAT not weird I was very similar January 2023.

You are 💯 % correct. Everyone in this forum gets it. Been through it, lived it, understand it.

Sleep my friend. Sleep as much as you can. Whatever it takes, sleep. Then sleep some more. Good for the brain 🧠

@JaynJules

Im just paddling my way trough right now. It’s frustrating with the partner thing from both side but looking forward to leaning some healthy coping methods.

Yeah it is really hard with The gp’s I had a specialist doctor at my clinic and right before we had our first appointment she had to fly back to England for a family emergency - but I am looking forward to her return.

All interactions I’ve had with my hospitial have just been different, you can tell they are trained.

thank you - I am really trying my best, and I’m learning slowly to slow down and cut some slack! 🫶🏻

@Glisten I’m looking forward to getting to know my self and learning who I am, and what makes my eyes light up with the right support. 🙏🏻So that’s something to look forward too.

ok thank you, I love sleep but I keep thinking if I sleep it will make me more depressive! But if it will help I’m going to definitely have naps!! Sleeping has always been a big escape for me, a reprieve.

i appreciate your input heaps, it’s nice to feel at home and know someone is always there SANE is pretty special 🙏🏻
