Synapses Feedback

Synapses Feedback

Ever since I was a bub I’ve been having nightmares. As I grew older the content worsened. All of them contained some sort of attack on me; you think of it its happened. So after such an event I awaken in a blerky hazy state that can last for hours. This is why I struggled to keep a job. When I was younger I was sick as a dog some mornings, and before 8am could not stand waking and getting out of bed. But we have too. To this day and even without nightmares I wake in the form of delirium, much like having a sip of wine upon awakening. Although I was sometimes keen to face the day and get things done, I am held back by the dysfunction caused by dream and nightmare hangovers. This is daily, unless I am really happy, or am deeply focused in some project or distraction. My sober self is affected by the co-habitive hangovers. My entire life has been like this. The effects can be different each day; I might be niggly, frustrated, fearful and so-on. Although I am very clever, this intellectual impediment keeps me from progressing and being stable in life. The soft self is roughed up by what I call pollution.

TW: But here’s the thing, and these are all new scientific findings for myself this year.

Content/trigger warning

My mind packages things and people in the day and sends them into my sleeping unconscious in the form of dreams or nightmares. Any object or person can trigger a nightmare or dream. This all then forms a feedback loop for me to endure -like this: the day exists, the triggered package as a nightmare or dream happens. This all becomes a feedback loop. To the point where one would think I am capable of manufacturing the day in my sleep, or indeed altering the outcomes of the universe.

As it turns out I have been running my whole life from my very own life, running from the triggers, trying to hide, not be affected. Not affect anyone. All news to me. Isolating, alienating. I don’t get ‘triggered’ in the day or ‘just snap’. The day is thus a separate universe, a separate existence. An alternative grueling reality.

Scientifically I have identified ‘pollution’ as the problem of the day. Pollution comes as an attendee of the initial micro-second thought initiation as the mind arouses from unconscious sleep state. The pollution is in the form of negatives attached to normal processes and thought. There are two competing processes taking place. The misfiring synapses produce at the same time positives and negatives, like depression, fear, confusion. But all mild and subtle. This is the drunken style of my conscious state that I have to live with until it clears throughout the day. Only to repeat the next day. Didn’t know until this year I have been running from triggers, from which there is no escape. Go Figure. And then there is the PTSD to deal with as well.

It is all very very subtle, and mild. But enough to ruin my life on its own. Without the interference of anything or anyone else.

But the psychotic psychiatrists would say: Yes, but read the Label

Re: Synapses Feedback

Hello @Stout I did see a western traditional chinese medical doctor say recently that nightmares are due to "stagnant chi" I don't know if this is relevant in your case but it could be possibly something you could look into?

Thanks smiling gecko, I can have a look

@Former-Member

I had a quick look and I don't think it's the Chi thing that afflicts me. And my body is sound and I look ten years younger than I am. I should look destroyed though.

So anyway what happens in the day affects the night affects the next day, almost as if time is going backwards. and it makes an idiot of me. And with the years of upheaval, my motivation and enjoyment is flattened.

I don't know how people with severe MH issues get along and even work. I am genuinely amazed.

Re: Synapses Feedback

Hi @Stout

That is quite the loop that is forming. I wonder whether there are practices out there that can help, other than trying to control your content, ie not watching horror movies, the news, etc.?

It sure does make you appreciate the resilience of people who have mental health challenges! I agree, that life can throw us curve balls, and when our bodies are processing things differently, it really can make things tricky!

Hope you are able to get some ideas, or find some relief 👍

Re: Synapses Feedback

I know @8ppleTree

Having them all my life I can say nothing stops them. Dreams and nightmares are the brains entertainment park. I was having a lot of nightmares recently due to what was done to me. And in past decades I've had them even though I was in a good tranquil safe environment. There is no explanation for it except for generational genetic memory retention and war meleiu. There's no stopping them. Completely random. I can't stand horrors and those movies. Can't stand bad scenes in life. Don't need porn. I've done my best to avoid the horrors of life and as time went by things have gotten worse and visited me more often. As if the night presaged the day. This is why I seem emotionless and don't age like they want me to. A living PTSD stupor.

Psychiatrists etal assume the worst though.

Tricks of the mind.

You wouldn't believe it @Glisten

Two days ago I saw my brother, then while over at the cuppa thread you offered good wishes about my feet meeting the footpath. Guess what. Last night my brain assembled these two items and hurled them at me in a very bad dream.

Fear, worry, stress???

Re: Synapses Feedback

@Stout . . . You’re post lead me down the most satisfying neuropsychology rabbit hole 🕳️

Fear, worry, stress? Yes all those emotions.

It could also be because you were too hot 🥵 or dehydrated.

When you sleep your unconscious sorts through information.

If you’re in therapy and the therapy is working. That can give you all sorts of dreams.
Befriending Emotions the subject of last night’s PGC. @Shaz51 attended.

@Stout you’re going to be ok. You brain 🧠 is working real good 👍🏼

@Glisten

That made me laugh. My brain working fine. Sure is scary to be in. I'm at the club now, but would love to chat about it either here or the cuppa thread in half hour or so.

Re: Synapses Feedback

So @Glisten

What happened last night was my mind assembled things from the long past, and yesterday. A shed from somewhere, a road and Y intersection from somewhere, some scrub, a railway track, a fence, my father in combat stance, my brothers and flying feet. Homelessness in the end. Very scary.

What can be understood of this?

(You did make me giggle glisten.)

Re: Synapses Feedback

@Stout I was in the sauna for an hour. Hope you are still around?

What club did you go to?

My aunt and uncle live in NSW they enjoy going to Wests Club for lunch.

Traumatised people have the best sense of humour. It’s our way of coping 😆

Why are you anxious about being homeless? Are you currently homeless?

Would your family intervene an give you a place to live?
