I don't trust myself when I worry I'm manic - but I think I'm looking at it wrong
When I am a little manic, not hectic manic, just a peppering, I question my actions, and my words, a lot. And I don't reckon, on balance, that it's justified. But I just don't back myself hey. And I want to. I can recognise when I am a little more manic than usual (commonly called hypomanic though that's not a term I find useful not finding binaries very useful (this is also why I say 'a little more manic than usual' since considering myself to have three functions, depressed, manic and neither depressed nor manic I find very confusing)). And when I recognise a little mania cropping up at unusual levels, all this, I guess you could call it self-stigma, comes on in. It's pretty unhelpful and pretty confusing. I want to be able to trust myself when I am a little manic, to look at my words and actions objectively and see whether they are sound and good, I guess like I would when I'm less manic, but a combination of being conditioned so heavily into thinking that mania is completely and always a bad and hazardous thing (unless you are a creative, which largely speaking I am not), and the fact that mania has a habit of making you think that you're doing a sick as job at everything (something I'm aware of, but that it is important to note is very much present) makes it hard! Does anyone have any advice? Thankyou in advance 🙂 Jenn4
