Talking through trauma and PTSD

Healing journey is more isolating than anticipated

Healing journey is more isolating than anticipated

Tl:dr – DID is really isolating and I healing is hard, really hard

I am struggling.

I have a history of trauma and dissociation, and I’m working with a really good somatic psychologist weekly. The last couple of sessions have left parts of our system feeling really uncomfortable, taking something that has been said the wrong way, and this has left me wonky for a few days following.

The problem I have now is that, when I struggle, there’s no one in my immediate circle who understands these struggles or the confusion or pain, or any of it really.

My partner is wonderful, my friends are wonderful, my work is good, my psychologist is good. I’m just feeling isolated and like I need a week off to scream and cry and rage that any of my past was allowed to happen, but I have a life and I can’t stop to feel any of it.

Does anyone else feel like their healing journey has left them feeling more alone than before?

@tyme @Just @nonoandno

I just wanted to check back in and say this week was tough, and I was mostly absent, but I've felt better since seeing my psych Thursday, and having Friday off work for an extra long weekend. My last session was really helpful and validating and the parts that were struggling are feeling much better about things, which has eased the chaos in my head.

Thanks for providing such a friendly space to reach out, it really helps.
