Emptiness

Emptiness

Hi,

I joined this site in hopes of finding people who are able to relate to the things that I'm feeling.

I've been struggling a lot lately with expressing how I feel, I can't find the right words when trying to explain my emotions to friends and family, this often leads to fights and arguments. I want to be able to communicate properly but have always been told that it's best to keep things to myself. I don't know how to express how I'm feeling when I myself don't completely understand it, I think the best way to explain it is that I'm drained. I spend so much time comforting and supporting the people around me that my own thoughts and feelings are often pushed aside. I experience immense amounts of anxiety and depression but am unsure of how to seek help, I can't afford therapy or anything of the sorts. Im scared that I'm going to keep burning myself out, I want to live a happy and healthy life where I'm not afraid of expressing myself but I dot know where to start. I live with this constant fear that my feelings are invalid and that I've not experienced enough to feel all that I do.

Thank you to anyone that has any advice.

👋🏼 Welcome to the forum @Katz42 your choice of font and colour indicates a creative graphic design.

Tell the forum more about yourself

I do woodworking at the local Women’s Shed and I’m running late.

Re: Emptiness

Hi @Isa1, I am sorry to hear you are going through this, I can relate to and understand your frustration. Have you expressed your concerns to your GP? Everybody is different and unique, one thing I have learnt about family and friends is that I can not change them, every time I tried, I was disappointed!

I too struggle with expressing myself, especially with my father, I can never open up to him and sometimes I think that people should know how to act and know what to say, but that's never the case. By interacting with the SANE community on this forum, I slowly started expressing my feelings towards other people, it's a slow progress.

I have learned to stop saying YES to everything, it used to mentally drain me, and I have learnt to set boundaries with family and friends, it has helped me to slow down, relax and be in the present moment. Don't be too hard on yourself, look after yourself, and take care.

Re: Emptiness

@BPDSurvivor 5am I ate my raw Red Tractor 🚜 protein oats.

🫢 Second breakfast at 7am coffee ☕️ and a slice of fruit loaf with peanut butter.

Ate all of it in bed while scrolling through FB Marketplace looking for inspiration. 😆

Found an ok concept for an open wardrobe with measurements. I’ll build it myself with hardwood.

Need to go to Bullsbrook. The fly screen mesh I purchased is not wide enough. 🚗 Have to exchange it at Bunnings and go back 🚘 to fix the fly screens. :hammer:

Inconveniently my daughter just messaged me 🤳 telling me that it’s my grandson’s last game at soccer for the season. Now I feel like poophead :pile_of_poo: because I can’t be there 😔

Enough about me. What does your Sunday have in store for you?

Re: Emptiness

@Glisten - I like how you put it... the Red Tractor protein oats. I don't think ive eaten oats in decades!

I'm forever busy... just doing things. I was just posting somewhere else that I'll be on school holidays soon so I look forward to having a break from work....sleep in.... party hard... who knows?

what have you been up to?

Re: Emptiness

@BPDSurvivor that’s really good that you’re going to get a break. Slot sometime in to do something completely different. Go horse riding or paintingball. Fly a kite 🪁 I don’t know. It’s good for the brain 🧠

Me, I have been doing way too much. The list is endless and varied. From digging drainage trenches and laying pipe to checking my lawyer’s oversights and over charges. Parenting and grandparenting. Repairing furniture blah blah etc

Re: Emptiness

At least you are keeping yourself busy @Glisten .

Parenting and grandparenting is hard work lol.

I'm on school holidays but I've got a lot of work to catch up on.

We just keep going, isn't it?

Hve a good day!
