Struggling to cope

Struggling to cope

I'm 40yo,I just got out of jail after 3 years, my wife has cheated on me and we're getting divorced, I've lost over $2 million through theft while I was in prison (the second time I've lost that much money through someone else), my spiteful soon to be ex-wife even destroyed the only photos I have of me with my daughters. I'm slowly losing more and more and I don't know how many more blows I can take. I already suffer depression, anxiety, ptsd, and autism and have attempted suicide 3 times in the past. I don't know how much longer I can keep going with so much going wrong

Re: Struggling to cope

I have at least got a job counsellor and they are putting me through all the mining courses and heavy machinery tickets they can. As for the personal side of things while I want someone I also don't trust anyone so I think for now that's going to have to wait.

@Kevin_baker that's fair enough. It takes courage to admit where we're at with things. Trust isn't easily won. Good on you for working on your skills, and putting yourself back into life again 🙂

Often, it's not the takedown, it's how we get back up again in life. You can look back and be proud of the self-respect you owned. That is yours. That is a coin worth holding at the end.

I wish you well in your fight, and honour and respect for your path forwards as you rebuild.

So, this job counsellor essentially just fobs you off on to a college? I'm just curious.

No. They work with me to get me every qualification to succeed in my chosen field while also assisting me to canvass employers to try and get a job offer at the other end of the courses

I would've thought that was the sort of thing that the college took care of.

So they give you a choice of employers?

Sorry, I guess I'm getting a bit off-topic here. Are you happy with the assistance your getting to get your job?

I'm happy so far. I'll have to give them some time and see what exactly they do for me to decide

Well, I hope it works out great for you. 🙂

But if not, psychosocial support might be worth looking in to.
