Actually, I've been having some rough weeks recently because of life events that were out of my control. There was one day last week I slept in until about 9:30am and I was supposed to be out of the house by 7:10am! I was so ashamed, but it made me realise I needed to slow down.
This was when I had to step back and 'let go' of the things that were out of control so that I wouldn't be hypervigilant all the time.
I practice positive self-talk a lot since I learnt to do it effectively. I also do a lot of reframing. I find it helps me a lot @Autumn_Leaf
Do you practice either of these?
Also, with all the thoughts that come through, do you push them away? Or what do you do?
Believe it or not, as 'well' as I am, part of my MH condition is that I have chronic suicidal thoughts. It's not pleasant, but I've learnt to let these thoughts come and go and not fight them anymore. It was too draining for me to fight them all the time.
