Something’s not right

did someone you don't know ask you this question?

did someone you don't know ask you this question?

When I was at work on Friday - it was quiet -

one of the customers asked me what I was going to do over the weekend.

I told her I wanted to work on Monday but it's a public holiday.

@jamesle2015. Heaps of people I've never met as well as most of my friends asked me this question.
I guess it's considered a safe harmless question to ask people over the new years eve weekend.
Were you offended by the question or did it make you uncomfortable?

Usually they don't ask ...

It happened again on 31/12 - I called the ISP helpdesk for my internet connection and the bloke asked me

if I was doing anything...I said 'not really'

I prefer it if no one asked me ...

This year I am doing all the January shifts ...I got Saturday shifts as well for the next couple of months

In previous years I didn't get many shifts in the first couple of weeks of January - too quiet - but this

year someone is away so I get the shifts which is good news for me

@jamesle2015. That's great that you got so many shifts in January.
Would you like to share what type of work you do?
I've been off work for 2 years - but I'm now well enough to work again. And I hope I can find a clerical / admin type job this month. I can't wait to start working again, filling my day, being useful and earning some money again.

I work in retail 🙂

If you look through my previous posts you will see

I guess being asked such a question ingrains things. I often think when people ask things such as in a retail situation it's not really to hear an answer. It's just making conversation. When I make lighter note of situations I feel less affected by what really bothers me.
Maybe just pass it off more, kind of a 'whatever' happens happens type of scenario 😊 @jamesle2015.
