Hey @Sunshine000 ,
I'm hearing you. Depression can affect people's appetite in so many ways. While some people overeat, I am also one who loses my appetite altogether.
When I was really down, then main thing I had were shakes and things to keep me hydrated. I really struggled with chewing food. It was as though every bite was painful and even more painful to swallow.
I'm not saying this is the best way or 'The way' to do it. I'm only sharing this as a way that I managed. For example, I had Sustagen, boost juices, up&go, lucazade. As much as I didn't want to have it, i made myself have it.
As long as I had that, I managed over the years. So in therapy, I mentioned it a few times, but we never focused on eating as an issue. Rather, we focused on the emotions and the pain that was driving the depression and thus the lack of appetite.
Nowadays, I'm in a 100% better place. I still take anti-depressants plus other meds, and if anything, I eat a little too much (esp sweets).
If you are concerned, it would be great to speak to your dr about it.
