@Former-Member I really think it's worth looking in to. I am getting out without my family for the first time in 6 months.

Re: Anyone feel like chatting? Coffee/Tea ☕💕

@Former-MemberI have a PH&M Program Support Worker (for the past 18 months).

My referral to them (Ruah) was through the hospital Social Worker, when I was in hospital for my emergency bowel surgeries. You can self-refere, you don't have to get a referral from a professional.

You just need to find out who your local provider is (for your region). It can be a long waiting list, I was on the wait-list for over 12 months.

My PHMP MH Support Worker is only able to help me with job-search & job applications at the moment. That's because that's all we have time for, each appointment - I really need that motivational support.

Social goals (which are part of the program) have been put on hold (for me) at the moment - as my health & well-being has deteriorated due to the stress of my current job (& the disability industry).

I have no energy (& little time) for extra social groups at the moment. So assistance with finding a more suitable (& less stressful) job has been the top priority.

It's taking many months, but even the social contact (visits) from the support worker is helpful for me.

Re: Anyone feel like chatting? Coffee/Tea ☕💕

Thanks for that information @Adge, don't think I'll have a service provider near my small town but I'll ask around. Actually, not sure what I'd do with them. Just don't seem bad enough for support. How do you qualify when you're working? I think I went on a waiting list a couple of years back somewhere but they never got back to me. I hate begging / asking for help. 🌷🌿🐦

Hi @Former-Member I am not comfortable with asking for support either.
It's based on disability & MH needs, not on whether you're working or not.

Its a really good service @Adge, I'm encouraged, and hopeful in my future, that I might be able to get that kind of help, wow. Its good they have something for us with MH.struggles. I'll definitely try again, if it helps me function better. Blackdog trying to tell me - its too late 😞 Aged care might have something to offer in a few years if I make it. haha
