Re: Anyone feel like chatting? Coffee/Tea ☕💕
I understand the space issue, @soul. A few years ago when I was moving house fairly frequently, I did a big book cull. I got rid of more than 300 books and got my ‘library’ down to around 200 books (much easier to move than 500+). I was determined to just use the library and only buy books I really wanted to keep … but somehow it hasn’t quite worked out that way. I’m back up around 350 mark. But they’re a part of who I am and they feel a bit like home when I look at them on the shelf. (And given I’ve never felt at home anywhere, I think that’s a good thing to hold on to … even if does make moving hard!) I agree, a shelf of books is a gorgeous decorator item. ![]()
When I’m listening to my audio books at night, once my concentration level starts to drop off, I turn my iPod off. I’ve never fallen asleep listening. Even once I turn the book off, it still takes a long time for me to fall asleep. The joys of insomnia.

I moved into a small cabin 6 months ago and when I packed where I was before I culled from 4 bookshelves (at least a few hundred books) down to only 17 books. I think I over did it. I miss my books more than anything else I didn't keep.
Anyone feel like chatting this morning?

That's certainly a massive cull @eth. It must have been difficult to choose. I'm interested to know some of the titles if you are willing to share that. I've just been offloading a whole heap of my kid's book though there are some that I will keep just for sentimental value.

Hi @soul Don't think we've met. I've not been on the forums much since I moved interstate. Did you mean some of the titles I culled or what I've kept? I had quite a lot of mystery and suspense fiction - only kept one fiction book - Girl Who Played with Fire, part of a series I enjoyed. Also kept a massage text book, a couple of books of inspirational quote books, a bible my Mum gave me (not that I read it!) a yoga book, a book called Black Elk Speaks which is very special to me, a couple of herb textbooks, and a few more. Gives an idea of my interests. I had a lot of herb and massage therapy books that I let go of which are the ones I miss the most as some are irreplaceable. Mostly it was fiction which I can get at a library and had already read 2 or 3 times so not an issue. And lots of recipe books and cuttings I hadn't used in years. Much of that is available online nowadays. And most of it was in really bad condition because I'd always moved around a lot before the last 11 years, so it couldn't even go to the op shop. With children's books I had given the special ones to my adult child a couple of years earlier for my grandchild. They bring back special memories and are much appreciated.

Hi @Former-Member I don't think I've met you either. Haven't been around much recently but I've been in the forums now and then since 2014. So many new people since I last had access to the forums easily. How are you today?

Today I am feeling quite drained from yesterday, struggled a lot & still in the aftermath. Hope you are well. How are you, yourself? x

@Former-Member Welcome! Hope today is better than yesterday.
I'm having a mammogram later this morning, just a routine check-up but not looking forward to the discomfort. Still it's best to know the outcome.
I'm not really a pro as I'm not tech savvy, but I've made some good friends here and missed them over the last few months. It's nice to be able to log on again. I had to change servers on my laptop and needed help to do it, so it took 6 months to make it happen.

I don't have anything planned today and am only running on an hour of sleep from last night. Zzzzz 😴 But - for some reason I am unable to take naps or to fall asleep during the day. My days are fairly uninteresting but there are again blue skies here instead of the cloudiness and amoint of rain we have had here recently.
