Re: Anyone feel like chatting? Coffee/Tea ☕💕

That sounds beautiful @Mazarita. Hope you get to the beach too. There's a break in the rain here and I can hear the finches and sparrows (I've just realised I don't know the difference between them!) chirping away. They love the fruit trees here, so much so that I can't get fruit because they're all eaten!

@Spookytookims - this is yet another disruption to my studies. I did years of it after I left. I actually started it during my admission to hospital (the recovery centre after hospital) thinking i would never make it. I worked super hard doing the single parent thing, got awesome grades, had nearly finished and then bam. It's eaten my heart and soul and out of all the losses, is one of the biggest. I have to get back there. Are you studying at the moment? Re the egyptologist - i definitely had never used that word before but just did for the second time 😂

Hiya @Shaz51 😊

@CheerBear, I know what sparrows look like and I vaguely remember their sound. Finches, heard of them but can't place what kind of bird they are. Might have to go visit google in between being here! Cheeky birds taking the fruit from your trees and leaving you none. I'd have a word with them about that! I don't have anything planned for today so far other than the walk and more video editing. I take it you have Phams meetup today. Are you going out somewhere to do something, or working on the plan to return to study? It is a great goal to be working towards.

@Mazarita I'm sorry I haven't made my dawn... it's still just slightly light... I'm like the energizer bunny finally running out of battery power here... so going to have to go get a few more hours snoozing.... pusscat placated (for now) so I will have some peace for a bit while she happily snoozes with me.

Thanks so much for your company, and no doubt I will catch up with you soon. 🙂

Thanks agsin Maz.

I'm going to google that one too @Mazarita. I should know this being that I have kept finches haha. I think we have both here at the moment.

Phams for me is usually/planned to be at their office. It gets me out of the house that way. Being school holidays my worker is coming here though which is nice. This is very early days so today the plan is to start making a plan now we've identified my values and some goals. You meet up with your worker yeah? How often do you see them?

@CheerBear, just on a quick scan of the Wikipedia entry on finches, it seems their colourful plumage would make them distinct from sparrows. But there seems to be some plain coloured varieties of finch too. I don't recall having seen them around here. I've been with Phams over a year and have met with my support worker on average every second week during that time. We've done various activities together and other than that she comes to my place for the discussion/paperwork side of things. Sometimes from here we will go for a beach walk and talk some things through there as well. I can't praise her enough really. My quality of life has improved a lot for her presence in it.

Re: Anyone feel like chatting? Coffee/Tea ☕💕

I was thinking it was something like that @Mazarita. We definitely have both - the little brown sparrows and then some very pretty finches with yellow chests etc. They're a little smaller and more delicate than the sparrows. I'll try and snap a pic for you one time.

So great to hear you've gotten so much out of phams. I've done some reading into the idea and can't quite work out whether it's different state by state or depending on the organisation it's provided through, but I think the model is the same or similar, and if so it's based on some pretty great values and ideas. Like everything, i think it would also depend on the relationship between client and worker. It seems like you've got a really strong one with yours which is fab. I struggle with that side of things sometimes (i can be what a worker described as 'fiesty' 😕 ) but I have a really good feeling about working with mine and we're off to a great start.

@CheerBear, haha, 'feisty'. I'm rebellious. I talk about it openly with my support worker. She smiles. It has also become easier as we've gone along and got to know each other much better. Yes, please, post finch pictures.

Re: Anyone feel like chatting? Coffee/Tea ☕💕

I love that you're 'rebellious' @Mazarita! I'm 'assertive' and proud of that. I kind of took fiesty as a compliment in the context that it was said. Under stress or pressure, or when I feel/notice that something isn't right I need to keep that in check though as I tend to get myself in a bit of trouble. The housing issue is one of those instances. And centrelink anything haha.

I'd best get a move on and shower/dress/pack. Hope you have a good day Mazarita 💛
