@TAB...I know isn't it. That's what I think. Makes us so mad. The other morning I was thinking I'll take him out of that damm school!!!! But I calmed down.
I think all the schools around here have I pad introduced. Grrr. A 9 yr old doesn't have the concept of self pacing, especially one prone to being addicted on one thing. 😏
Idiots!!!
Right better run..pick up!

kids wont be able to write before long, think spelling went out the window 20 years ago @Former-Member there was something on tv other week saying one in five school teachers are barely literate or numerate. that lead to the well how did they get thru uni thing ..du-oh ..theyre degree factories these days lol. I was in a course at uni where some others were doing primary teaching ..they were struggling to work out lessons in numeracy for like Grade 4 because they were having to teach themselves .......come ...on ...

Re: Anyone feel like chatting? Coffee/Tea ☕💕
I know what you mean re laptops/ipads at school @Former-Member
I'm all for learning to read, write, use BOOKS etc., old school. Computers, internet are great for research etc, but not to replace everything.
No diaries given this year at school. They are paid for in the fees and usually given every year. This year they are supposed to use a diary on their laptop. My daughter wanted to buy one, so we did. I was pleased that she actually wanted to buy one, lol. They are also encouraged to download their textbooks on their laptop. I love books, I have never wanted to download a book on internet.
Last year was a "nightmare" dealing with the IT teachers at school. Phone calls, visitis, I was so incredibly stressed in the end. This year I decided to go with my daughter to see them, because one of them in particular is so rude and arrogant and enjoys treating everyone lke an idiot. So far I think we have been there 2 or 3 times, my daugher, has been more often. Finally I think that it's sorted, internet paid and working, hopefully anyway. For one term last year we hired a tablet from school. Waste of money, frustrating and didn't work in the end. Try telling the IT guy that, lol. He knows everything, NOT.
I bought my daughter a Macbook as a reward for getting A's. She is very careful and works so hard, I think she deserves a reward. Plus it's really good for film, TV and media subject. When we looked at laptops, they're all expensive, so figured why not get a really good one. Then I bought myself one, lol. I usually don't spend alot of money on things like that. Thought it might motivate me to write a book. I'm still trying to motivate myself, lol. Has to be the right time, I did have a go, but wasn't the right time.
That must be very frustrating that your boy gets obsessed with the ipad, easily done with kids. I remember trying to encourage my daughter to not spend so much time on hers when she was younger. It is addictive, says me, who sometimes spends too much time on here, lol. I've been so quiet on here lately and now I'm making up for it.
I hope you are able to get he ADHD/ADD book from your library Fadin, I found it very helpful. The author, Dr Amen is a specialist re our brain and believes that we can heal our brain.
I looked up the other group that is on next week. It's a 10 week workshop to help people with just about everything, anxiety, depression, trauma, repressed anger etc etc etc.......... I am keen to go. I won't think about it too much as it is a bit of a drive to a very busy place where I don't like to drive, lol. But I am determined to get some help.
Hi @Shaz51 Hugs back to you too. xoxo Have you been ok lately? I'm with you on the "cash". I like to deal with cash instead of cards.
Lollypop person @TAB Is that something that you would like to do? I'm guessing that the pay would be reasonably good. We had a lady lollypop person in the next estate a while ago. She was on the news, because she used to dance, while working and waved to everyone. lol, good on her.
Ok, so now I guess I better get dinner on. Sounds good re getting meals delivered Fadin. I wouldn't know how to do protein meals without meat and also important for you to get iron. I remember you said that you are low in iron.

Hello @Former-Member xx
you asked Have you been ok lately?
this week has been so big this week and today is only thursday '
my mum is 85
My mum was put in hospital 3 weeks a go but they could not find anything wrong so they sent her home since then she has been unwell
on monday morning when I dropped in to see her , she was sooo sick that we took her to our local hospital where she stayed overnight
On tuesday she was still in pain so they took her to a bigger hospital 60kms away
Tuesday afternoon the doctor rang and said looks like she has a blocked bowel and she needs surgery tonight , so we drove up there and she had already gone in for surgery
The nurse said to us to go home and get some sleep -- SLEEP yea right !!!!
Tuesday night I had no sleep thinking of mum , but I was thinking of Dad too who had a massive stroke ten years a go , they took hime up to the bigger hospital that night and I got a phone cal at 1 am to say that his body has shut down and that he had just died
soo I was so worried the same thing was going to happen to mum
then I rang the hospital at 6 am and she was ok , they had to take out the part of the bowel that died and fix up the rest of the bowel , wow the emotions I had

Re: Anyone feel like chatting? Coffee/Tea ☕💕
It would have been awful for you not knowing what was wrong with your mum and having memories of your dad passing away.
I remember you telling me about your dad and I can imagine that would be very hard to deal with.
Big hug to you and sending you lots of love. xo
I'm so glad your mum was able to have surgery and that she's ok now.
She's lucky to have such a lovely daughter to be there for her.

For school it's good though. Daughter is keen on film tv media.
I've always been happy with Samsung tablet. Needed new one. After lots of research could see laptop more useful. 😮😀
