Re: Anyone feel like chatting? Coffee/Tea ☕💕

I can't sleep. Nauseous. Restless. Anxious. Ihave a Workcover Psych review (again) on Tuesday. I always get sick a few days bbefore. The worry and anxiety creep up. I don't know why. Because I've been doing really well with working on my depression and anxiety. And I've only had 2 panic attacks last year. Plus the big anxiety attack. And I'm back working. So I should be feeling better about this review than the others I've had over the past 2 & 1/2 years.
But they make me nervous & exhausted. And of course Workcover is sending me to see a psychiatrist that I haven't met before (I hate that). Where I have to answer all these personal questions about not just my workplace and the incident - but about my whole life.
I'm a pretty honest, open person - but I hate this intrusion into my privacy. Because I don't get to choose anything. I just have to sit there and answer whatever they want.
Aaarrrggghhh!!!!!
Rant over.

Here @utopia .... I have made you a chamomile tea ....

Breathe ....long deep breaths help to physically reset your body and mind ....

Now .... picture this as a quiz instead of an interigation, and you will receive a certificate if you pass the quiz ....

Sometimes a change of perspective helps. You are an advocate for moving past mental illness and back into the workforce after a break .... and you are already achieving it .... this is just another box to tick, but it's one that is casting big shadows on the wall and frightening your inner child ....

Hum a gentle lullaby to yourself if you can, and remind yourself that night-time shadows can seem a bit spooky, but it's gonna be okay ....

❤️ Hugs .....

May I have a cuppa too @Faith-and-Hope. 😙❤ Please
Have lost count of sleep meds I took, so exhausted, yet can't relax. 😮😣😨

Re: Anyone feel like chatting? Coffee/Tea ☕💕

Thanks @Faith-and-Hope. I think it's because I've always associated the Woekcover psychs with the workplace incident. Never realised that before.
@Former-Member please be careful with your meds tonight.

Sure can @Former-Member .... ❣

Do you have some things to do to "cue" your body to relax ?

Here are some of mine ....

Dim the lights

Play some gentle background music

Take a warm to hot shower

Drink Chamomile tea

Eat a banana - https://www.vitatalalay.com/eating-a-banana-before-bed/

Read a somewhat boring book that your attention keeps wandering from and you have to drag it back .... (distraction)

Lower your voice

Move slowly - no rushing around

Close your eyes and slowly start relaxing every muscle in your body, concentrating first on your smallest toes and working your way up

Relax your eyeballs

Breathe deeply

Hope this helps a bit, and if you still can't sleep, rest a lot ....

❤️
