Hi @Former-Member
The only time I really feel safe is when I am on my own. The expectation that something will happen that hurts, annoys, or scares me is so overwhelming at times that I just avoid! It has seemed lately that anything and everything can be a trigger for me so locking myself away (as the evil I know) is better than the unknown.
At times even the walk from the car to the psychologist's - through crowds and traffic is overwhelmimg.
Attempted shopping yesterday and felt more anxious and lonely in the crowds that I do at home on my own. I know it is all in my head - but that is where I have to sort out so much.
Low self-esteem also needs to start ascending that slippery slope without falling too many times. I know that will take time and I believe I am finally giving myself the permission to take that time - no limits, no expectations, no one (other than myself) to answer to or please.
The exercise part is the hardest for me because I get so tired so quickly. I'm not focussing so much on getting moving and regaining my physical strength until after I start reconciling some of my thoughts and emotions and have more motivation and energy to start.
It doesn't matter, for the first time in my life, how long it takes, I give myself permission to heal and move forward.
