Why must we imagine Sisyphus happy?

Why must we imagine Sisyphus happy?

Still overwhelmed and overthinking. Does anyone know why Camus reckoned that we must imagine that Sisyphus was happy? (A hero who was punished by the gods to roll a boulder uphill daily and have it roll back down again overnight as his eternal struggle.)

Camus was a French philosopher active during the Second World War. If you’ve ever said to yourself life isn’t fair and why me, Camus has your back on this.

Thank you, it’s a bit dense to read. I feel like I’m missing a bunch of context.

Got it @Gwynn . What an interesting myth.

Sisyphus must have been happy because his refused to look at that which was impossible. By focusing on his goal in life, he was able to keep going. He accepted the fact that the stone rolled back each evening, and continued his goal of getting that stone up the hill.

Albeit, the as long as he was focused on his goal in life, he just kept going. IF, he were to look at the impossibility of life/his goal, he would have given up long ago.

Long story short? Accept that which you cannot change and focus on your goals in life.
