Can't sleep

Can't sleep

Brain won't turn off. This no sleeping is driving me headlong into the crash and burn zone. Wish I had an off button

Re: Can't sleep

I can't turn off tonight either @Former-Member but I did manage a weeks worth of sleep in hospital 😝 I honestly don't know how you do it night after night. Are this kids away this weekend?

Re: Can't sleep

No I have the kids this weekend so at least no need to rush out tomorrow morning to drop them off.
I'm so over not sleeping . If only sleep could b banked up you'd b ok for a while lol. I have sleeping helpers but not sure I could take only the recommended amount so staying away from them tonight

Yes best to stay away for now @Former-Member. Its probably good to have the kids this weekend to help you stay focused and busy. It's different when they are older and don't rely on you anymore. I'm not complaining but just noticing the differences.

Hi @Former-Member

I have thought about the sleep debt and bank issues a lot .. during the night .. lol .. I will do more research to find out the latest positions in research ..

Main reason I struggled so long without meds .. as I think I would have needed doses at the level of an elephant .. and knew negative consquences of relying on chemical "help".

its your call ..

Another reason I stayed away from meds was ..to conserve my musicality .. meds do deaden it .. and deaden fast responsiveness and fine motor skills ..

see things in phases for your life. Society makes too big a black & white difference between child & adult .. (for reasons) .. but the binary dichotomy obscures a lot of the gradualness inherent in natural maturation and learning processes.

Re: Can't sleep

I hate feeling.. under the influence of anything. Sometimes im so desperate for the sleep that i do take the meds that are prescribed for sleeping but they generally don't work well on me. Although when i say this to my psychiatrist he looks at me like i'm lying or exaggerating. the one that does work well (its actually an antipsychotic), leaves me feeling foggy and awful the whole next day.. and also need a higher dose than what he says for sleep). gah. my 'team' all want me using something for sleep at least every second night but all refuse to acknowledge the impact it has on my ability to function. I can not think clearly enough to work... and yes.. i agree @Appleblossom they do deaden creativeness and individualness...

Done my exercise for the day... again my psychiatrist/psychologist would assure me that exercise will 'definitely' help my sleep/mood/anxiety/lack there of... but it isn't.
