APPROACHING SURE?
I had a drive into the country yesterday to attend a christmas lunch with people that I did not really know. I am needing to process what happened. If anyone would like to respond.

Hi @Appleblossom
I wrote that email to the Juvenile Justice Centre in Melbourne today - and first thing tomorrow I will be ringing up to get her addy to send it to the right person
Alright - I will have to read it again and probably again - but the thing is it is easy to over-write these things and never get them right - I am pretty sure I have made all my points -
It depends on the powers that be - but one thing is sure - I am a published writer and I am not going to write something about the new centre until I see it again - but I have all the info needed to write on the old centre -
All the best with your project though - you will know what to do when the times comes - it will become agonising not to

Thanks @Former-Member
Inner sage is right - it takes years to find one, years to train one, years to learn from it and years to express it's lessons
But it's worth it

Thanks @Owlunar and good luck with yours![]()
I spoke about it to a friend last night and to 3 choir sages at lunch today after opera rehearsal.
So I am shifting my conception of the event .. away from shock and embarrassment and a tense holding on to things .. and it was nice that a psychologist echoed my statement that was simply welcoming calm and trying to shuffle people out of a bottle neck .. I think she believes me as well ... putting it out there .. is the beginning.
It is important for me to deal with it socially and as a social situation. Most things I havent been able to team work. I will take final decision and usually am ok with that, but it sure as hell breaks the loneliness down .. to have you guys ..and gives me courage to go the next step and talk face to face socially.

Hi @Appleblossom
It does help to have people we can trust to open up to and share our deep feelings with
I have heard it said - often - that we can't trust on-line contacts - but in this safe environment where we would not know each other if we lived next door - we can trust each other to the deep levels of sharing our most precious of things - our inner lives - something we could not trust those people in our lives who we see face-to-face and wow - how great to meet people so honestly with those things that cause so much pain
You will be okay - I know from my own life that those memories of my past are painful and when they surface because things will carry on - people will do what they do - and eventually it entangles with my life and I know when I need to act
You will too - I know this from experience - but yes - it does scratch at the old wounds at least - but it is the only way to get through it
My thoughts

Have been drenching myself in the wonderful world of art online.
It has been very healing to let myself go and be totally accepting of me, my instincts, preferences and directions.
In the course of my life, I have spent a lot of time second guessing myself, analysing and reflecting, so it was good to give myself permission to just respond and with something more varied interesting than a standard psychological testing tool!
I have various deep connections with the visual arts world, which I have mostly sbmerged as there have usually been competitive people around and I easily submit and relinquish .. but this was a reclaiming my sense of my visual experience, rather than dismissing myself.
I found it a very interesting reflection of the range of hobbies obssessions that are often spoken about here on the forum.
There are strong themes of books music dancing love and sex and woman and great men and death.
For me it was often the deeper and more formal and more tragic works that initially piqued my interest and then as I let go and actually enjoyed the process .. I allowed colour and playfulness to enter and influence my selections. It was a relief to see the category of "death" which featured earlier .. recede .. amongst the range of human interests available to see and reflect upon.
Tonight I am singing a German requiem for a concert and for life giving aspects .. recognising death as a part of life .. but not so overwhelming a part .. for me ... now.
Thanks for walking with me

@Appleblossom To be able to immerse yourself in the visual world, and be able to identify positive changes within yourself whilst doing so, is such an amazing step forward for you. We all do have our preferences and views when looking at or producing art - but what unites everyone is the emotive responses that any works elicit from each individual - the fact that you have changed your persepctive of what you actually 'see' is a real sign of positive growth within yourself. I am so happy to hear that you are seeing such progress internally and can share this with us here.
... and will continue to walk with you ![]()

It helps to know there are people on the planet worth hanging out with. ![]()
This forum is important even if I get help elsewhere too.
