First Christmas Totally Alone

First Christmas Totally Alone

First Christmas, totally alone.

Divorced. No Family. No Children. Friends are far away. Dont like the people i work with, so no support/friendships there.

Mental Health has taken a serious hit this year. Fallen in love with someone who doesnt feel the same way and wont let me go either.

Feeling useless, worthless. sad.

I cry everyday. The days are long. Dunno what to do with myself.

I need help. I need direction.

Hey @maddison82 ,

I'm hearing you. It sounds like you've had a lot going on for you. I'm sorry you feel so alone this year and that the person you love doesn't feel the same way.

What can you do to help you feel better?

Everything feels like an effort. Even things i used to enjoy, i find hard to get enjoyment

Re: First Christmas Totally Alone

I'm sorry for that @maddison82. Tomorrow is also a similar first for me with being separated and not seeing my kids.

I will not be totally alone as I will go to my sisters place and see my parents.

But I will not be with my own family. Can you FaceTime your friends? Is there anything you can do to occupy your time?

Sorry I don't have more than that. Just didn't want your post to be missed, as it sounds like a tough place to be in.

If there is someone to reach out to, don't feel bad about it, as it could just be the glimmer that you need.

For what its worth, Merry Christmas for tomorrow. There are some really caring people on here, that no doubt will have something uplifting for you.

I was wondering how you feel about volunteering? It's a great way to make new friends. But I understand you're suffering from depression, so I don't know if you'd be up to it?

Re: First Christmas Totally Alone

Volunteering probably not a good thing

Interacting with people i see their motives and it aggravates me.

I can't stand injustice and due to my mental health i have no filter

Re: First Christmas Totally Alone

@maddison82 hey there.

You popped up in my thoughts as I logged on, and just want to check in to see how you got through the day?

I hope there was glimpses of things that made it okay. Silver linings somewhere?

Re: First Christmas Totally Alone

Appreciate the message

I was with my best friend and her family

Admittedly it was a struggle to get there. Cried on the way there and had to pull myself together before i walked in. Spent the whole day crying and hoping no one was watching so not to ruin their day.
