Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Hi all, I hope you have a great Festive Season.

I'm taking a break from the forum, it's not helping me the way I had hoped it would.

I feel lonely and isolated and there are too many people here who have their own problems to deal with.

There is no one IRL who thinks I'm special and I certainly wouldn't expect someone who doesn't know me on a forum to think I am either.
I guess I don't know what I want or need. I don't think I have suffered such severe depression since I was first diagnosed. What I want I can't have so why bother.
Hope you all have a nice time with family and friends over Christmas 😍🌲

Re: Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Hey @ENKELI,

Thank you for your post here on the Forums!

Thank you for letting us know that you are taking a break from the Forums and the community will be here if you decide to return at some point in the future. You are demonstrating your insight into your situation and taking steps that you feel are best for you. I sense that you have a strong character to be able to make these decisions and the resilience to work through this outside of the Forums.

It sounds like you are feeling isolated and alone and this can be tough to deal with particularly when our MH is not great. I experienced it too and I found that it was one of the hardest things to deal with in my MH journey. I just wanted to check in with you and see if you had heard about the Guided Service here at SANE. It allows you to be connected with a Peer Support Worker or Counsellor for 1:1 support sessions and peer support groups with others who experience their challenges. Please also reach out to the SANE Support Line to speak with a Counsellor Monday to Friday. 10 am to 8 pm: Get support (sane.org)

Thanks again for being part of the community and we are here if you decide to return!

Take care

RiverSeal

Re: Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

I hear you @ENKELI

Chatting on forums, it's not the same as having real life friends. I feel isolated & lonely too. So, you are not alone there. It's f**king difficult. It's probably not fair. And it sux.

I'm not sure what my point is.

I loved @RiverSeal response to you.

I guess it's heart warming to know that even though we feel alone in real life - it's a reminder that there ARE good people out there. People who could be doing anything else, yet they choose to spend their time replying. I think it's the world whispering 'you are special', & "you are cared about.'

Maybe we don't have lives that represent that rn. And unfortunately, Christmas amplifies this 1000. Great for families, & friends - not so good for the 'leftovers'. Christmas, is really not all those things the commercials tell us anyway.

Christmas is a time of hope.

I think if you want to meet people, you need to partake in group activities. I don't do that yet - except for church. I might like to join group next year. I'm not sure what it would be.

The internet is great, tho it has made isolation 'more easy' to fall into.

I get, that you want a break. It's not fulfilling what you really want. Real life connection. I think it's actually a clever move. It shows you are ready. For more.

May you have a Christmas of peace, reflection, & hope, that your future will be so much brighter than where you sit today.

Thankyou for your courage.

S

Merry Christmas @ENKELI

I'm sad to see you are taking a break. I've enjoyed getting to know you, but if you do choose to know, I'll be waiting here for your return.

I know you have a lot going on with your Father and ex-best friend, but I do hope you can do something special for yourself, even if it's on your own.
