Missing him

I am in a casual relationship with a guy. This involves us occasionally meeting and having sex. After we finish our first round of sex, he stays on his phone for the rest of the time; he shows more interest in cricket and in the latest bollywood film. Last time when we met, he showed me pictures of his nephew on his phone.

When we are not meeting, he doesn’t really talk on text messages and does not call at all. I do not message or call him that often as I don’t want to be irritating. He hasn’t even taken me out on a proper date.

If we always maintain this distance then how can we be more close and develop better understanding?

I just saw in his Instagram story that he is outside and is having dinner with his friends. So, I don’t think I should disturb him right now.

Probably not a good time @storyofmylife. I do think you both really need to have a conversation around this. So that you both know where you stand and maybe get in the same page. You don’t want to be left stringing along like I was. Mine went on for years. He had 3 relationships in that time but I was never good enough to be in one with him. I was just the bit on the side. It hurts and it’s demoralising.

He is going overseas next month and will be back in February next year. There will be this distance between us which I will have to tolerate.

I’m not sure @storyofmylife. Maybe think about what you want to say. Write it down if that’s easier. Do you want to find a common ground with him? Do you want to tell him exactly how you feel?

He isn’t going to devote all his time. I should ask him to take me out on a date; this will be the very minimum for now.
