Hi @Rosewood
Hope you're feeling a little better today
So sorry to hear people around you aren't being supportive.
I can only speak from my own experience, but when my depression was really bad I lost my appetite completely. I rarely ate and at one point had to have Sustagen because I couldn't stomach anything else. My anxiety was so bad it would make me sick and none of this was what I wanted at all! I really really wanted to eat but I just couldn't no matter how hard I tried.
Now thankfully, after getting the depression sorted my appetite returned and I was able to eat again.
So don't know exactly how food makes you feel, but it can absolutely be linked to things like anxiety and depression and other mental health issues. Seeing the doctor would be a great start, is there someone who can go with you?
Your struggles, emotions and the way you are feeling is valid and it's real. It doesn't matter whether someone else might be "worse" or not, it has no impact on how you are feeling and certainly doesn't minimise your pain. What you are going through is hard, and you deserve to feel better.
My brother took a long time to realise how bad I was and changed his tune over time after seeing the seriousness of depression. And then years later he went through it himself. People generally don't understand unless they've been through it themselves. It can affect anyone, it doesn't discriminate so comparing situations isn't helpful.
Reach out as often here as you need and all the best with the doctor. It's worth going to see them, trust me.
