What’s in scope?
This is a list of things that are *in scope* to be introduced or re-introduced in some form to the forums through this process.
Please note, being on this list isn’t a guarantee - these things aren’t costed/explored yet but being on this list means that yes it’s something we’d like to do!
- exploration of clubhouse as a possible framework for governance, programs and activities
- introduction of self guided learning programs
- content creation ability where senior members of an advocacy subforum could form committees, work together to create surveys and write blogs for example
- growth of peer guide and community guide roles and programs
- development of member governance models to give members more of a say
- return of the old webchat on SANE.org
- introduce new mod initiated chat to new/vulnerable members
- improved follow up support and aftercare spaces for new/members in crisis
- ability to create your own recovery support plan, goals and tasks using functionality currently only available in the guided service
- introduce personal Journal spaces called
“J-Spaces” where you can write about what’s happening for you, describe your own support plan, visible to you and Mods, peers only. Allows for more personal asynchronous personal chat threads with peers.
- redesign of visual layout and structure
- development of subforum spaces to support diversity including specifically:
- creation of a First Nations subforum through community directed co-design in partnership with Aboriginal led organisations and communities to steer the project and syndicate and develop an Indigenous governance model
- LGBTQIA+ subforum likely as a partnership with Q-life and similar orgs
- advocacy subforum - help shape SANE advocacy on the system
- other sub forums to come out of co-design
I am sharing this list not to pre-empt the ongoing co-design but so that we can have a pinned post people can refer to for the things I can see being asked a few times in the discussion about much missed features (specifically webchat) so you can refer here and see that it is in scope to be returned once we resolve planning/staffing questions.
