Something’s not right

Going insane - no help available

Going insane - no help available

My mental health is completely shot.

I've been <redacted> myself, talking to myself in public, saying and thinking things that I don't think are real or true, feeling paranoid, and having angry outbursts.

I'm not drunk and not on drugs. I've never done anything like that.

The only thing that I can think is the overwhelming pressure of life is just getting way, way, way too much for me and my brain is absolutely struggling just to get by.

I signed up to go to private hospital (since there is no long term MH units in my states public hospital) and I was interviewed by them, but I won't be able to get in until February when they have vacancy.

I'm terrified. I know my mental health is getting significantly worse, but there is nothing I can do about it.

There's just nothing I can do!

Hi @Jlol

On a positive note I'm glad you got into private MH care. But sorry you have to wait until Feb. It will come around quick but it must seem such a long way off when you're feeling as awful as you are right now. I wish I had some answers about what you could do in the meantime. Besides keep reaching out here, which I hope you do.

Sending warm, positive wishes to you

Hanami

Re: Going insane - no help available

Hi @Jlol

Thanks for sharing your story with me, I feel very honored to hear your story, and

I am really sorry to hear that you are struggling right now.

I can totally empathize with everything you have talked about. It's good that you have not taken any drugs or alcohol, coming from my own personal experience it just messes you up more in the long run and can make your situation a whole lot worse. It's really good that you are being smart there and you have a lot of self-awareness.

I really hope you are able to find a way through the awful feelings and thoughts. Don't forget there are several mental health hotlines and online support services that can be accessed 24/7, without having to wait to see a therapist in the hospital face to face. There are some real gems that work on the phone lines that have been amazing during the times when I have been struggling, I hope you will continue to keep reaching out for help.

Sending encouragement and blessings your way, I really hope things improve for you as soon as possible.

Hang in there. I can tell you are a survivor and you will make it.

I have been surviving for 16yrs and I am also at a critical point where it feels too much. I dont have a facility I can go to. That will be really helpful for you and I am pleased that you have that there. It is a shame there are not more facilities and professionals available to help us. I have to wait til January to see a Psychiatrist when i really would like to see one right now today.

Have you tried any of the services that can give you immediate assistance? I have been having online chats with Beyond Blue since someone here suggested it. It has helped me get through a few awful nights.

One step in front of the other, we can make it.
