Down and out

Down and out

I am depressed. I drink. I have sciatica. I live in chronic pain. I have had all the therapy and do daily yoga and pilates. I'm out of money, its all in the hands of the specialists now. I'm 28 and have moved back in with my parents. I quit my job on Monday. Too much pain. My head is a mess. I want to die. But have too much experience with suicide to do that to my family. I wish I could die by accident. I'm so lonely.

Re: Down and out

Hello and thanks. Yeah. I'm not ok. Having a lot of moments. Regret typing "I want to die" though. I do have the regular thoughts. But can't do it to myself or family. I've always been in work until recently when my sciatic pains have been getting worse. As such I have never had a low income health care card or anything of the sort. But now may be the time. When I initially did my injury I couldn't stand or walk for 3 months. I went to center link. Really long story short. They caused me more trouble then it was worth, I ended up finding work I could struggle through before I got any reason from centre link and gave up on them. After finding myself homeless for about a month and skimping free accommodation where I could. I will try these services. Its all a struggle.

Re: Down and out

Hello @Mattt

It is a tough road to hoe when we have serious back issues that young in life. I have struggled a lot with suicidality and the consequences .. like you, I decided not to take that option. The levels of pain may make the idea of escape a frequent desire, but there is always hope. I have managed to reduce pain .. it was my mantra for about 15 years .. I found wholistic & physical therapies the best and check in to get updates on best approaches. My GP warned me off surgery and I was did not want to be on pain-killers & anti-infammatories for life. Though your situation is uniquely yours, medicine is improving.. I hope your family is supportive.

Perservere with Centrelink .. even though I know there are a lot of pros and cons ... it is our legal entity in this country and you ought to be entitled to be treated with respect and with suitable responsivenes for your abilities and disabilties.

Find a place at the your centre of yourself that can ground you and help guide you to get some basics established through this stage of your life.

Take care

Last saturday night

I thought i was shot and stabbed

But i didnt feel any pain and i felt peaceful

And i decided to take a gamble and trust in 'Lord Jesus The Messiah'

My life has been dangerous and i just want to feel love and peace

And i just want a normal life

I meditate on love and peace and mercy
