Re: Tabalugas@
Quality books and flicks
@MDT @TAB
Coppola was New Hollywood with a daddy composer and conductor
... Sophia makes dif chicflicks.
Helps to understand where the media is coming from
I last saw Apocalypse Now at Melb Uni.
in Film/Book course. We read lots Conrad at Lit in uni, but he is seen as racist now. I read a book of his this year about Spice Islands. He was into sailing and exploring so was my dad. The book Almayers Folly out of print .. was left behind by an uncle. The book seemed full of colonisation realities, not as blown out of proportion as the "filmic" version of .... Heart of Darkness .. images and metaphors ... I would never have paid money to read it, but as it was lying around, no point wasting a so called good author ...
I thought it painted a non B&W view of both sides of colonial divide ... anyway thats just me... and I cant stand racism ... when I am aware of it.

That's new age politics I guess @Appleblossom
Deem something "racist" when it isn't even...
Apparently I'm watching the later directors cut version here. Goes for a while.
