Re: Tabaluga's

ohh I meant cc like in emails as in 'fyi 'like for your info re any possible interest in euro buildings. /end of.

C and BCC are ways to send a copy of an email to someone other than the main recipient. [1, 2]

CC (Carbon Copy)

  • What it means: Short for "carbon copy" (a throwback to physical paper copies), CC sends a duplicate email to a secondary recipient.
  • Visibility: Everyone who receives the email can see the email address in the CC field.
  • When to use: Use CC to keep co-workers, a manager, or team members in the loop on a project or conversation where they need to stay informed but do not have to reply. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]

BCC (Blind Carbon Copy)

  • What it means: Short for "blind carbon copy", BCC sends a copy of the email to a recipient without revealing their address. [1, 2]
  • Visibility: The person on BCC is hidden from everyone else in the "To" and "CC" fields (and they cannot see other BCC recipients either). [1, 2]
  • When to use: Use BCC to protect the privacy of a large group of people (such as a mass email to a mailing list) so recipients don't see each other's private email addresses, or to discreetly loop someone in without the main recipient knowing. [1, 2, 3, 4]
