I have Bosnian neighbours next to me and we call them mum and dad. Dad is always yelling in Bosnian and sometimes mum bites back. My brother and I tell each other "I hate it when mum and dad fight." I mention their ethnicity only because it is a very harsh sounding language when spoken in loud voices!

We have a lovely family who moved in recently across the road and the mum likes to sit outside and talk on her phone so the who street can hear her.

I can tell when her dad (I think it's her dad) is over as I can smell the cigarette smoke waft in through my front door and kitchen window.

I am however extremely grateful for them after hearing about your neighbours. And you're right, it can affect the price of property and capitalism can breed some horrid individuals.
